Hawthorn set to field their best team all season. Dogs and Suns were great wins but it always felt like our brand of footy stacked up against them better than it does against Hawks, Geelong, Pies and even Brisbane. Tomorrow night will be the biggest test of the year and we should not be treating it lightly.

Dogs away was our biggest test of the year imo, away game against a team flying at the time.

I will give you that he was sometimes next to Amon, but as for playing on him? Nah. He floated around ball watching most of the time. If he was actually tasked with standing Amon he got torched.

As I mentioned I was being facetious suggesting he was on Impey because what Murphy actually does is he runs off his opponent doing nothing, which leaves players free. Could the player he was on or supposed to be on be Impey? Sometimes he's so far away from his man it's hard to tell who he's supposed to be on.

As for who was actually tasked with being near Impey, at least in the first half, it was Ben Keays, not Josh Rachele as you claimed

This is what I mean by Murphy not actually playing a defensive role. All of these are in the first quarter and a bit (highlighted Murphy and Amon). Just lets Amon get away from him (if he's playing on him, which is questionable) time after time. I got bored eventually, it just happened that often

You know you’re arguing with a poster that confidently posted that we were beaten up in stoppages by Suns in our away game earlier in the season. And when alerted to the 46-35 count our way, admitted that he had gotten the atta the wrong way around. If he spends as much time watching the games and re-watching replays multiple times, it sure doesn’t show in his analysis. He’s a stats watcher and not particularly good at it.

Maybe at the time. What’s critical about this game though is that good teams turn our games into slogs to limit our damage on the turnover. We’ve seen Hawthorn, Collingwood, Brisbane, and Geelong (second half) do this already.

I don’t think the dogs ever had the personnel to do that. We proved in that game that we can beat anybody in a shoot-out, but we’re not likely to encounter many shoot-outs in finals.
