Murphy's role was on Josh Daicos. From memory (I'll check stats in a sec), he has always killed us, generally from the wing.

Last night Daicos got 19 disposals and was rated their 11th best player (rating 67), alongside Frampton.

Previously:
R10, 2025: 29 Disposals - (Collingwood's 5th best - 82 rating)
R10, 2024: 30 - 2nd (118)
R15, 2023: 33 - 3rd (106)
R7, 2023: 31 - 1st (100)

The above justifies the role Murphy played. So credit to Murphy and the coaching staff for identifying a problem and putting in a solution to fix it. Will Murphy be wearing a premiership medallion if we somehow get there? Probably not. But he tries his guts out and in a side that is winning, he has come in and played a role for the team, and will be a small piece in what is hopefully a premiership puzzle by the end of the season. I don't think there is a need to be critical or worried of Murphy or the coaching staff at this stage sabotaging our season by making selection decisions that don't make sense. Have faith and enjoy the ride.

Right? Tense final 10 minutes, there's action to call... so let's have another little chat amongst ourselves about inside 50 differential.
Doesn't that simply refer to FWD 50 efficiency, which we've been good at all year .....that's an indictment on COLL to be that "inefficient"

So which Crows will get picked in the All Australian Team ?

Dawson
Thilthorpe
Rankine
Dawson
Thilthorpe
Worrell

Any Crows supporter who watches games would know they are our 3 best chances.

May have helped get the crowd involved after our bad start though. That free against Smith to Daicos was embarassing
Hopefully Daicos gets called out for the flipper he is becoming
Pies had 3x number of frees in the 1st quarter & crowd rightly started booing the umpires.

All those port flogs complaining about rankine “diving” for a free… you conveniently said nothing about this flog getting a love tap from smith and wincing in pain like he took a bullet… all port flogs reading this… gfys!

It's amazing isn't it. Years of getting rogered by the umps and no one gives a shit. A couple frees against us get missed and it's the end of the bloody world. And that's after a first quarter which bordered on outright cheating.

Is this where we rattle off everything they roll out after we get done?

  • Umpires don't affect outcomes
  • First to the ball gets the frees
  • Shouldn't have given up the lead to start with
So much of this.

If you read our games day thread you’d be excused for thinking we were totally rogered. We got 2 goals from the goal square they shouldn’t have and one from a throw in that should have been recalled. Although, it ultimately favoured their club and he had 2 easy options directly in front of him. Was almost impossible to gift us an easy snap, but he did it.
We got rogered in the first half, but we did get a hell of a ride in the 2nd at times.

I just felt it was ironic given they'd have to be the most kissed club in the league.

Look at the effort Daicos puts into his push, much more than Smith did, this stuff is borderline cheating

Made the obligatory 'natives' reference again last night. Every game of ours he calls, without fail. Patronising little shit
Yes I was trying to remember his specific phrasing but it's getting old and highly offensive. Some of the radio commentators in Melbourne still have a habit of referring to AO as "Moron Park" too.

Apart from the game itself, it’s absolutely the story of the night. Smashed in clearances and inside 50s and won. Interestingly we were very similar in terms of disposals as well, so the massive variance in inside 50s is very interesting in terms of game style on the night.

The other great difference is that they had 5x the tackles inside 50 that we had.

I agree, but I personally don't want to hear about it every 2 minutes when there's a game to call.

I don't think the likes of dunstall and lyon belong in the box. Hudson gets on my nerves, but he is at least trying to call the game.
