The good: finally weathered the storm in the 4th quarter in a close game

Lots of players below their best tonight, but still got on top. Happy with that

It should never be a close game when you are up by 4 goals with 10 minutes left.

Very lucky to hold on. The reason why we've lost so many close ones is because Nicks shuts the game down when our biggest strength is our attack.

Great to win a Showdown, but yet another piece of evidence (in a multitude of them) that Nicks is not the coach to take us forward. If we make finals, it's in spite of him, not because of him.

Ugly: Huge amounts of dumb decisions tonight. Not sure Nicks can cop the blame when Milera looks inboard with the game in control. Or Laird deciding to throw it in D50. Or Keays pooing himself and kicking boundary. Or Berry refusing to get near JHF when he is the fresh guy. Or multiple people still trying to chain up ROB despite him having about one clean possession in 3 qtrs. Or Soligo basically taking option D every time tonight. Its all just dumb decision making.

Keane's mark and Port's absolute ineptitude inside 50 saved us big time

You watch any game where a team shuts it down early this year and get punished.

Port reduced the margin by 17 points in that time with only two goals. Yeah our forward ball movement was ugly during that period, but the Crows of last year would’ve choked that, hard

Good to get the win, fair bit of paper over cracks though. They are a shocking team outside of 4-5 players.

Milera and Laird running the show at half back, I think we find out the hard way when we start playing Pies, Lions, etc. Laird at least defends not too bad but on rebound its not working.

Would have put Dawson behind the ball late rather than start forward. Lucky they missed a few gimmies.

Nicks handling of the last 10 minutes.

We were looking like pumping them.

Then he decides to take the sting out of the game.

Premiership coaches are ruthless, that last ten minutes should have been a chance to nail em. Push the margin out. Humiliate them with our forward play.


He will never win a big Final. Too conservative.

That was a shocking last fifteen minutes and I have no idea what they were doing and how we managed to win. We were so lucky. Keane took that incredible mark.... Basically saved our ass.

Rankine was quiet in the first half but loved the soccer goal.

Thought Thilthy was great, David King thought he should have received the medal instead of Rozee.

Hopefully he will be coaching an ammo’s side by then.

He was criticised for the exact opposite in our 1st 3 wins.
