I don't see what people like about this game, looks completely terrible and I don't think Rockstar deserve any money after the abomination that was GTAIV. Also it's obvious that the reviewers were bought out, and that Rockstar were lazy for not improving the PS3 version.

I DEFINATELY will not buy this piece of crap, and I'm embarrased for anyone who does!
So, you are not going to buy this game due to GTA 4 not living up to your holy expectations. I don't agree with you, but that's fair enough, if you don't like it, you don't like it. But don't try to be clever or funny by saying you will be embarrassed for someone who does buy it.

And if you think that by not buying the game, your sending a message to Rockstar, you have rocks in your head.

Haven't finished yet about 19 hours in, probably failry close, though i haven't done a whole lot of other stuff.

Doubt the order matters, like GTA games there will be different arcs which you have to complete before new ones open up.

Im finding riding around in this game is giving me terrible right thumb pain. anyone else experiencing this? the repetitious button pressing to ride i reckon is causing it.

You shouldn't really be smashing the spurs button as it'll wear the horse down pretty quick and use up it's stamina. Generally doesn't get you anywhere quick because you have to slow down and get the horse back to normal.

Just give it a tap every now and then to keep it going and hold the run button down.

Horses can swim in real life so that bit is a bit odd.

As for Marston not being able to swim...tbh back then the majority of people couldn't swim and viewed water as a bit of an unknown. Even sailors usually never learnt to swim because they thought it a bad omen and would rather drown quickly if their ships sank...true story.

So i can buy that bit
Yeah, that's exactly what I was thinking. Still, it'd be nice to be able to swim. Just reminds me of Vice City and how frustrating it was when you would fall into an inch of water and die.

You can walk into slightly shallow water in this, but you die once it gets any deeper. At least some sort of doggy paddle would be good.
Any Hints on what I'm doing wrong as I 'm having trouble lassoing wild horses.
I'm on my horse riding up to a wild horse, but every time I lasso it, it doesnt stick. It initially does, but almost immediately it comes off.
I don't have any trouble doing the same lassoing bad guys from my saddle, and I had no trouble getting my initial horse in the Bonnie mission.
Any hints as to what I need to be doing? Is there a limit to the number of horses you can catch?
Hold down the aim button once you've lassoed the animal/person you're lassoing. That will hold it around them.

I was also enjoying a leisurely horse ride when a guy came running up to me to tell me he is a long way from home and needs a ride, thought I'd do the right thing and stop, he then walks up to me, grabs me and throws me off my own horse! He then proceeds to ride off while I give chase on foot but before he got too far away I shot him in the back.

Must of come across the same bloke cause that happened to me. But I whistled my horse and it came back. Then, being as pissed off as I was, chased the prick down and shot him. Getting redemption was sweet.

Went out to do my first bounty after getting the lasso so decided to take the guy alive. Killed the other guys and got him hogtied then put him on the horse. Only problem was I put him on the wrong horse :o. I didn't realise for ages cause I got distracted by wild animals anf the horse he was on had just bolted off.

Took me ages to track him down.

Shows how much I explore my Xbox other than playing games re all games being able to have music played from the xbox.

Got it today but haven't been able to get past the introduction bits as I had a family dinner tonight

Yep dude it's been posted.

What sort of glitch is it anyway? Has anyone actually met donkey lady?

It's glitching of the Euphoria and/or NaturalMotion engines.

There's potentially some sort of cheat that could unlock that. But most likely something gets mixed up in the coding and results in weird actions between people and animals.

This is stupid but it got in my head and now 3 of us are all doing it.
Ignore this if you haven't seen scrubs. If you have, does anyone know the floating head doctor scenes in which JD wants to seperate his head from his body or something so he can do multiple things? Anyway, whenever he needs his body he screams "Body! Come!" and the body would come rushing. When we first got the game my mate kept screaming out BODY COME! and would call for his horse. I told him that he is an idiot, but then i started doing it. We told another mate and he laughed it off and now he does it as well....

Yep pointless story, just don't begin to do it.

Anyway looking to smack up a few hours, i think ive done about 10hrs or so, havent really played it much since friday though

Ok this game sounds epic, gonna buy it next Tuesday or Wednsday (only days i have chance lol), just wondering about one thing, how big is the land?? like how far across?? i think you know what i mean

D'oh. This is the explanation for the glitches I read:
"I'm guessing that the game populates the environment by randomly selecting models and pairing them with an appropriate set of procedural commands to animate them. In this case, it seems that somehow a glitch caused an incorrect pairing, and the game is using the model of a woman with the underlying parameters of a donkey. From the looks of it, the "parts" of a woman model and a donkey model are defined similarly, so the mismatched commands still translate to the incorrect model, though they look quite unnatural. Judging by some of the other videos out there (flying donkey, a talking dog gunslinger, cougar man, etc), there's something funky going on with how the game selects models."

There's probably numbers on it somewhere, but it's absolutely massive. Would be at least the size of San Andreas if not a bit bigger.

I was in a little village in Mexico and in the market there were three bags of wheat (maybe) just floating in midair, but bent like they should have been being carried on the shoulder of someone.

I had a bit of fun putting on a magic show for the locals, crouching down and walking underneath the bag, running into the bag to make it fall and finally shooting a bag out of the air, although that last trick got me in trouble with the local constabulary.

I was like frickin Diego Copperfieldo.

It's big. Maybe san andreas size but it's hard to tell because you can only ride a horse and walk instead of driving cars and flying planes over it's expanse. It's big enough to give it a real RPG huge open world feel.

Ok I thought that it was emotional riding into mexico with that music... then I get this hauntingly beautiful song a bit later. Truly amazing gameplay experience. People rubbish games as being for kids or childish or a waste of time but I challenge you not to be moved at this point in the game - this is as good as any TV drama, even better because you have an emotional investment in it.

I still have that horse as well Kingy, supposed to be one of the best 3 in the game so no need to get a new one, I'm a bit worried about it dying though as then it is lost for ever isn't it?

I am still yet to visit a gun shop as well... has anyone bought anything decent from there or are you lads just finding weapons as you go?

I tried to find the treasure near hanging rock but no dice so far.

Buy the deed at a general store and you'll be able to respawn it from the satchel if it ever dies.

It's called the Kentucky Saddler

1500 bucks or 750 if you have enough fame

Otherwise, ride back up to where you found the first one and rope another.

Just finding em so far mate. Except for the springfield. Bought that and it owns, esp against human enemies

Stand at the base of the tree and walk towards the gap in the big boulders. Look through the little cleft between them and you'll see a pile of small rocks on the ground.

Walk around the back of the boulders, walk into the cleft, an option to "inspect" comes up on screen. Voila
