Read Bolt, Panahi et al for 5 minutes and you will read them telling you they arent allowed to say anything. Books are being sold, TV segments filled, newspapers sold based on this lie. Some of these boobs are making careers off of it.

First one is immigration and is consistently rated as the key concern of people in working class Western Sydney, hence why it's on a never ending loop of Australian politics and it would seem in Britain and the US.

Gay marriage is a culture issue of the left but you could throw in abortion for a culture issue of the right that never seems to be settled.

Global warming is foremost an issue of agriculture for human species so I would say it is 100% a "bread and butter" issue. See Egypt, Libya, Tunisia and Syria for what happens when climate and food economics clash.
