I'm heading for the hills...

Followers: Renouf, Hodge, Sewell

Interchange: Ladson, Moss, Suckling, Taylor

Emergencies: Morton, Schoenmakers, Whitecross

In: Moss, Suckling, Taylor

Out: Rioli (susp), Skipper (omit), Whitecross (omit)

I'm keen to see how Taylor goes. We need his tapping dominance, badly. Not so sure about Suckling, haven't heard much about how he's been going at Box Hill. Can anyone else inform? I know Moss had a ripper last week.

Smaller bodies probably better matchup against the Swannies.

Mossy played well for BHH, but Suckling and Taylor were servicable at best. This selection is from left field. Where is hoops? Where is Carl?

Happy with Taylor coming in.

Moss doesn't exactly scream 'pace' to me, which is what I thought we'd be looking for, but perhaps we're giving him a chance to prove himself.

Suckling is an interesting one. I would've thought we'd go for another small forward, seeing as we're losing Whitecross and Rioli.....perhaps someone else is going to push forward.

Geez, it's ridiculous the love shown for Suckling by the coaching staff. Yes he can kick relatively well (albeit with a weird action), but other than that he's a liability. We already have about 10 elite kicks in the team I just don't see the point of another.

Hope I'm proven wrong

Garry Moss is a wet weather specialist. I believe it's been pretty wet up in Sydney?

Moss, Suckling and Morton (who's been named as an emergency) might be "last chance" players in the coming weeks.

Interesting concept, perhaps Mossy matched up well on one of our former lads consistantly in the past?

I don't mind Taylor coming back in, let's hope he gets some hit-outs to advantage and give us forst use of the pill..

Not sure about Suckers

The omissions are no surprse and therefore so is Taylor's in. Thought the other two ins would come from Hooper, Petersen, Muston and Schoenmachers.

Shows how little I know but hope the ins justify their selection!

strange selection this week, thought Peterson would of came in and thought Taylor would come in for Renouf not Skipper, Renouf needs a break..

Not overly confidant anymore, and when was the last time we won a game with Suckling playing and Moss too?

Reports on the BHH board suggested Tails was struggling to run out matches. I'm thinking Roof will see a lot more game time than him.

Moss surprises me, I know he played well last week but he hasn't been too consistent for BHH. Peterson must be wondering what he's done wrong, maybe he doesn't fit into the plan since Louie's gone forward to annoy defenders. I guess it's Moss / Suckling's turn to show what they can do, WhiteX didn't have his best game against Pawt and turned the ball over a couple of times in the last quarter.

Pity Tuck didn't get a look in, would have been interesting to see him take JK-cubed head-on.

Just a word on the Taylor, Suckling and Moss inclusions and the Omissions of peterson and hooper. I will explain by reiterating their contributions for Box Hill. I can understand the thinking from the coaching staff.

First Suckling was great after quarter time after being moved onto the ball. Even kicked a goal. He got quite a few centre clearances and his field kicking well we all know about that even in the wet. He was one of the best on the ground for box hill.

Peterson was great probably best on ground sweeping from the half back flank after half time. However will he play that role at hawthorn? A bit stiff i think could have got a game for maybe moss or sucking missed out because he is more immature than the other two in my opinion.

Moss hardly sighted in the first half but when the game became a Sydney style scrum. Moss became influential and a match winner. Given the weather in Sydney is scheduled to be wet and we are playing Sydney the reason for his selection is self evident.

Hooper had good game but was short on for a gallop. He himself said that he needed another game at box hill so i don't think he was ever going to be selected.

Taylor well the best ruckman on the ground his tap to advantage was outstanding. Grabbed a few around the ground and used his body extremely well in the wet. I had him pegged to come in after seeing him at box hill.

Hope that provides some insight...:)

Thanks T4P. Puts Moss' and Suckling's selection in perspective.

Taylor is a good in.

If I were trying to justify selection of the other two:

Suckling - SCG hurts you if you can't dispose of the ball efficiently, that appears to be Suckling's one and only trick at present.

Moss - There is a need to fill Rioli's role up forward, I expect his selection comes on the back of Mossy's strong performance last weekend and the possibility of rain in Sydney.

Rained early in the week but it has been clear and dry for the past 2 days. Seems the selection committee are banking on the coastal showers expected for Saturday.

I coached sucko in his junior days and known him for years. I'm mates with him and he was always an on baller, he never had the defensive skills but has been used there for his kicking skills.

Not surprised he played on ball last week. He is an extremely smart footballer around the contests and knows where to position himself and get into places to receive the ball. Its just with the depth and quality we have in the middle he doesnt get a go there. Personally knowing him from a young age, i never thought he would be anything other then an on baller or high half forward pushing up and playing as an extra onballer. He has never been quick which is why when 1 on 1 defending if its not around other players he can get found out. Really hope he gets some time around the middle to show what he can do

Don't agree with these changes as there are several players out who are not even named in the emergencies who are been far better players this year.

I believe the match committee has had one of 'knee-jerk' reaction ala 'Matthew Knights' just because we lost one game to Port Adeliade who were coming in with some good form.

I'm not doubting the quality of the players coming but Muston for example has been best player this year at BH. Peterson if used correctly has showed can be extremely valuable. Hooper would of been the natural inclusion for Rioli. Skipper has been doing better than Renouf in the ruck in the last few weeks. Savage along with Muston has showed a lot of good consistency.

I would of brought Muston and Hooper/Peterson in for Whitecross and Ladson.

Smart move clarko. Moss and Suckling are likely playing for their spot in the squad for 2011. They have been good in Box Hill and deserve one last chance at AFL level.

I'd expect massive games from both!
