Basketball is a different sport with a much shorter game. Even then their "time out" rule is absolute horseshit. We should've picked a better team. Langford should've kicked the goal. Both teams we're evenly inaccurate.

A game isn't decided by the last few minutes anyway, every single moment throughout the near 3 hours counts towards the final result. And unlike basketball, our sport awards you a point for missing. If elite players can't get their nose in front by a point after near 3 hours with such a unique "behind" feature of a game (where you can literally bomb the ball towards a wide open goal line to win it) then you don't deserve to win.

Length of the game is irrelevant - it's the outcome. Basbeball is the same length but there are no draws there. This is just an attitude from a bygone era. Reminds me of the hesitance to the 6 - 6 - 6 rule and such despite them improving the spectacle of the game.

We already have Extra Time in finals and I don't see any complaints about how those games turn out. Seems like the practical approach during the regular season.

As I said, it will eventually be removed. Broadcasters would love more ad time and fans (and players, judging from Nic martin's interview) would love an A or B result.

Improve the back 6 with Ridley and Reid and we win that hands down. The midfield dominance was squandered by unforced errors in defence.

Add Perkins’ finishing in front of goal and it would have been a decent win.

Collingwood threatened to take the game away multiple times but the boys didn’t give up. We’re finally seeing a sustainable system that can hold up against decent sides.

It is relevant. You saying it isn't bluntly doesn't not make it so. Our game is more taxing and is much faster and opportunity driven than baseball.

Soccer ends in draws and their ladder actually decides the premierships. You're being silly comparing sports by shifting goal posts conveniently. And our sport doesn't even have that many draws. 29 years since the last drawn Anzac Day. Meh, "turn it up".

You have to take your chances and you have plenty of chances. If you can't in 3 hours, with a wide goal like that by awarding you a win from missing then you don't deserve it.

Games should be decided by playing well, taking your shots, choosing the best teams. Not rushed for a result just because you're impatient like a baby. Talking about a bygone era... maybe it's time you grow a little up and realise that things are finite (time in games) and not everything is be going to black and white.
