Our injury list is absurd, we’re playing a heap of kids and fringe older players.

Goldstein and Laverde would genuinely have not expected to play a game this year, maybe a couple at most, now they’re holding down Ruck and Full Back on a weekly basis.

How people can look at where the team is at, a list that was already not great that has been smashed by injury, and get upset when we play poorly or lose is the surprising part.

Yeah the future is particularly grim at the moment. Been down for a long time now, draft picks that were supposed to bring us back up the ladder haven't panned out and unfortunately it appears that things are going to get worse again before they might get better. Little wonder people have developed a bit of apathy towards the club.

Yeah it’s the last bit that is hard to cop. And, knowing you’ve got a long few years ahead (like Richmond as well right now) is not so hard to swallow when you’ve had success in the recent past (like Richmond, and unlike us).

But when it’s the fourth time we face such a realisation in the past two decades with not even a single finals win in recent memory? Yeah, it’s pretty grim stuff.

The full replay is available on the afl app within a few hours, I “watched” it this morning.

But watching it alone with foreknowledge of both the ACL injury and the final score isn’t really inspiring me to post much about it

A bit of apathy? All I have is apathy towards this club. Every ounce of pride i used to have for the Bombers is gone. Watching the team play is a chore, despite wanting to see the kids and grasp anything positive, it's just too hard. The way we play is torturous. And we were playing like that before we hit the injury tipping point which we have definitely gone past.
In saying that, I will be at Marvel on Thursday. Most likely the bar... **** the footy!!

For a glass half full option:

We’ve become truly shit at basically the ideal time. A couple of drafts pre-Tassie, Bewick coming and should at worst be an OK AFL player based on his form to date.

Saints and Melbourne also having bad years whilst we have their picks.

If you were ever going to have a year or two smashed by injuries to load up on draft picks, now is pretty much the time.

Can only hope Rosa drafts well with the picks he’ll have.

Last night I finally reached my threshold.
I've paid memberships for 20 years to financially support the club as I don't attend games, but I can't justify it any more, I'm out.

I was filthy last night. But usually we would win that game and we would still be filthy anyway…I just wanted the win so the young guys can get around it in the circle.

I’ve grown up expecting an Essendon Flag every 7 or so years…the full rebuild is taking 8 years if you take Brisbane or 10 years if you take Carlton for example…we are in year 2 (?) with maybe a good head start with the kids…they’re gonna know the standard real quick come pre-season.

The injuries…never seen it like this ever but whatever sourcery they engaged in during pre-season can’t happen again…

The good thing about watching atm is wondering who’s gonna tear the game apart now and in the future…like May did in the 3rd last week…

We may not win another game…but I would more likely go and watch with this team rather than an experienced underperforming team.
