Besides Brisbane's win never being in doubt it was a highly entertaining game. Yes we're losing games but I'm loving the brand of footy we're playing. If we played Fremantle yesterday with that same intent we easily would've won. So I'd make no changes this week, theres not much we can do with the midfield until Prestia's available or Smillie gets his legs. Hugo needs another game in the VFL and our KPPs are all in generally good form. No need to rush Balta back in till his legal issues are sorted.

Unpopular opinion but I think Balta will be made to earn a spot via VFL.

I actually think it would send a poor message to slot him straight in ahead of someone like Campbell Gray who has been performing really well consistently.

For culture reasons and match fitness I think he comes back via VFL

And by default with the vfl bye next week it would appease some in the media and CFL House

It was so apparent at the game that from the second quarter on particularly, the focus was on lowering the eyes and protecting the footy with short kicks away from congestion

Agree with this, controlled ball pretty good at times, until Short got involved.

Sonsie, out of contract. Might get a one year extension.

Sonsie lacks leg speed and very few players can make up for that with fast brain or superb skills, or they’re 6ft 4.
He ain’t one of them.

Our future midfielders are young kids, some not even in the team yet. No point flogging them in there too soon, plenty of the year left yet.
Lalor had 10 cba, so a good taste for him, definitely part of our future.
Macca was subbed out, which is probably why Lalor got more toward the end.
Macca and Dow are the 2 taking up a spot in the midfield, but as I said only early in the year, let's not give up hope just yet, I'm sure they will all get a taste as the year goes

Sonsie Green and Smith are not kids and IMO they deserve a chance to show how good they can be. A good side has 6 or 7 players rotating through the midfield and some of them need to be quick. If we wait for all those players to come from high picks then we will need to be around the bottom of the ladder for about the next 4 years

short is really starting to piss me off. teaching young players bad recruits by just being a panic merchant and dump kicking the ball every time he gets it. He needs to be pushed out of the team but unfortunately we don't have anyone in the wings banging the door down to replace him. Really needs to be dropped to set an example.

yep i like it, thats a competitive team most weeks. kmac is the ideal sub as injury coverage imo, can play anywhere and do a job but not necessary for 4 qtrs atm. i hate putting kids in as sub.

When Ross, Sonsie and Banks get a game there is no such thing as selection integrity. He plays

Banks got 14 disposals & 2 goals
Ross got 17 possessions 1 clearances
Sonsie had 12 disposals & 2 shots at goal
KMac started in the centre and got only 8 disposals and half this board want to keep him and he definitely has no future

we know he can play though just blowing the cobwebs out in the 2s, he was one of the only positives out of last year.

even his biggest critic would have to admit he took a massive step forward last year. never lost a contest on the wing and gave us plenty of dash. was even hitting targets which i wasnt sure he was capable of previously.

There are a lot of things i saw at the ground and a lot of it all came down to being a young side.

The one thing i am starting to HATE is how we always want to go the 5m and not on the mark. Sometimes that means we just walked the opposition an extra 20m because we didnt man the mark and just jogged backwards instead of attacking the man.
