I don’t think a different coach would make a bag of beans of difference.
Frankly that Adelaide side (on paper at least) should beat us by 10 goals. They’re that much further ahead in development.
The truth is the younger players we most want to see in action have been out injured anyway. This is the inevitable result of all of this.
It isn't the young player who are not pulling their weight. It's our most experience players in the midfield. Forget what the stats say and actually look at what the Adelaide midfielders did compared to ours. Stop waiting for Lalor and Smillie and try some of the 2021 draftees. They couldn't be any worse that what our slow existing midfielder are dishing up.

Don't judge him on this season too much. Hopefully he's just coaching our base game plan this year, nothing fancy, no real plans B etc.
They can build on that over the next preseaon and give last years draft crop another full preseason and hopefully see a bit more variety in middle.
Just remember also, if they were playing more youth in the centre we would prbe copping bigger defeats, I'm sure that wouldn't go down well either.
I did that last year though. I didn’t judge him on his game last year because he was a new coach and had a ton of injuries to his side. But my problem is that he sometimes makes strange decisions. For example, I have no idea why Ross and Green are still in the side. It’s been weeks since they did anything notable. They’re still here, and I don’t know if it will change next week. Maybe it will, maybe it won’t.

But I’d probably say he’s at the stage where he needs to show us that we’re going in the right direction. I’m over people trying to fill the gaps for him, and trying to show us why he’s excused in this or that game. I just want him to show us why he’s the man to lead Richmond.

After every loss there is always a series of posters and callers to talkback saying they expected a 10 goal loss.

I think we need to say it BEFORE each game. Maybe at the captains run, that we're expecting a 20 goal loss. Anything less is a win

we are in a bad spot atm as we do not have experienced players to show the kids the way. macca is not the answer but we have to play him. we have a coaching team that is generally clueless, what is our game plan and our kids are not strong enough (poor weak bodies) and yet skilled enough. so many turnovers today and no system going forward. keep playing blight please. keep playing trainor. get someone who knows how to coach the mids connection to forwards and then we have a slow moving system of prestia, hopper tartanto. we desperately need speed and skill.

lack of connection between the three on ground departments. They're like parallel lines. Never come together

If lunch has three opoonents where are our spares?
Honestly it's a combination of them working between the arcs and not working hard. Add to the fact that defenders on Faull and Simms before him would happily sag if these players as they are unproven goal kickers (combined 6 goals in 16 games)

Theyre probably hoping the ball goes to faull and sims?

we are so hesitant moving the ball, I know he is trying to teach then possession, but then there is nothing left to do but bang it, meanwhile everyone has got back, its so obvious, its frustrating....

I called this after Lalor went down - said it would be a real hard watch for 4-6 weeks and boy has it been a shit show. Ju at terrible to watch. There’s no identity nothing in the way we play

The likes of Faull/Sims have one defender on them that is currently good enough to beat them at least 60% of the time then our only decent smaller player Campbell is having to work up the wing or even to half back way too often so he ain't there most of the time. The other smalls are nowhere to be seen

Another poor performance.
Not much connection or system in attack or defense again.
Good to see Alger kick a couple, liked him not over celebrating his first goal considering the scoreline.
Lynch stupid but I get his frustration, we'll miss him badly.
Ross good in the center, 23d, 9cl, 15cp 74%de from 66%tog and was quick to release and creative when in there.
Prestia worked hard all game.

at least dimma addressed it and say **** it get the ball moving fowards asap and keep it in there

Things will probably get worse before they get better
not really. 4 teams are in (planning for 26) and another 4 just about to go into tank/cue in the rack mode..... plenty of upsets and bruisefree games for us to snag 2 wins minimum. PLUS the likelihood of another 4 or 5 debutants.

The issue is, no one leads or creates space. Our forward line has operated the same way for a few years now. High density of numbers 25 metres out from goal, kick it to Lynch, try and force a F50 stoppage and repeat.

Its actually painful to watch. Even when someone tries to force someone to run at the footy it doesn't work because, 1. They're not expecting it and 2. It gets chopped off because no one is contesting it.

Next year is a big year for Yze as he will start getting pressure from parts of the media and supporter group who gave him a couple years grace to find his feet.

Personally, I need to see some serious changes.

Take a look at the forward line, though. Besides Lynch, how much game experience do we have there for most of the game? No doubt it’s an area of the side that lacks most. I doubt that’s on Yze.
I actually want to include Lynch in my point. It doesn’t matter how many games of experience our forward have. They’re all playing the same. From Lynch to Sims. They don’t lead. They don’t provide options. All of our forwards are therefore uncompetitive right now. It would be one thing if our only experienced forward played well, but he’s not.

FYI, it’s not because Lynch is being triple-teamed either. I’ve seen him flat-footed or lose one-on-ones that he’d win in the past.

This is one of the reasons why I’m not brushing past Yze this time. Another example is Faull. Unlike Sims, Faull’s strength pre-draft was goalkicking. Yet, he is struggling to kick goals. Is Yze fostering the environment Faull needs to kick goals? If he’s lacking confidence for example, what is Yze doing about it?

I think it’s too easy to just blame the inexperienced players for our current predicament. Watching the game, it’s clear that inexperience isn’t the source of all our mistakes. We see 100+ game players make silly mistakes every week. Is it because they don’t feel like playing to the best of their ability? And if so, why is that?

These kinds of things are why I’m starting to have doubts on Yze. Our players sometimes just don’t seem like they give a crap, and it’s on the head coach to make them care one way or another

Realistic here for a moment. Did you truly believe we would be performing better? Anyone that does is kidding themselves. Last season and this were always going to be a struggle. Yze was left with the majority of our squad that’s on the club not so much him.
I just don't see anything good with what he's doing, I'll happily admit I'm wrong when I see improvement. Out midfield and ball movement is beyond inept, and we have very senior players across every line to be much better than this. Does it mean we win? No but we should be better. I believe he's playing a Melbourne 2021 gameplan that does not work. We constantly have a ring of players in pure no man's land when we're trying to defend from our forward half. It's bizarre to watch.

Yze defended Lynch said "he feels like he is getting held" well no shit anyone can see that. it should have seeked clarification before this incident.
Been getting held for years! These blokes are professional footballers who pump iron, box & live in a world fuelled by testosterone & we expect them to compete & leave no stone unturned, yes they get paid reasonable money but it’s relative to what they produce in the grand scheme of things. Any Tiger supporter or so called supporter who had a problem with that today can **** off as far as I’m concerned! He’ll be suspended because the AFL is a PC piece of shit! He basically threw a reverse inside bitch slap in frustration, it wasn’t a king hit & anyone who thinks it was needs to go & sit in a support group for soft *****!
Imagine actually being physically fit, strong & tough on hundreds of thousands of dollars a year & you can’t impose yourself on a contest because of the optics involved! Looks like Tom won’t ever get a gig on dancing with the stars!

Na I like players balancing on a 5c coin while getting yelled at to stand and if they sway with the wind its 50m penalty
