The funniest thing I've ever heard Dave Hughes say is "I'm a comedian."
Was in New York one day and some tout was trying sell me comedy tickets.
asked where I was from and when I told him he gives “oh do you like Dave hughes?”
I said “no, I hate the c*nt”.
tout was speechless.

I have to say, Carlton fans are the most downright vile, despicable and loathsome to behold. Every year, I try and find those rare gems that do not fit the generalization but every year I attend the game and they only heighten my utter hatred for them as a collective.

I couldn't attend the first game of the season but the rest of my tribe attended. I thought perhaps it might be an opportunity for them to return home with stories of kindness, unbiased support and 'Carlton Care'. Instead they told me of Blues fan screaming in my young kids faces, trying to wave them home, gesturing towards their own tiny genitalia. My wife was appalled and said she would never return to a Carlton game again.

Last Thursday in the first quarter of this game, I thought perhaps the Blues Fans had finally mellowed but then they kicked a few goals and their true natures emerged once more. Cheering into the back of my children's heads and spilling their drinks was the start. As a the game neared its zenith, some in front of us began to turn around to wave us goodbye and call us chokers. It was a classy display that my oldest had to hold me back from remonstrating.

Then light broke through from the heavens and Broadie's 'Hand of God' decision deflated there arrogance better than anything I could ever spit back. It still didn't stop me from celebrating like we had won the 2017 GF all over again. The very next sequence of play had Edwards slotting through another, made me almost lose my voice and pop a heart valve with one triumphant cheer. All directed towards the repugnant blue smeared filth encircling us. My families eruption of euphoria must have done the trick because moments later, we had most of the stand to ourselves.

I found my hatred crumbling toward the Blues after a decades of misery and pain but after a small glimpse of success they have woken me up to the truth once again. They are the most noxious, repugnant, appalling group of supporters in any league in the world. Burn in hell....

in the 3rd we had a free paid against us at a centre bounce for what the ump said was a goal square infringement. Does anyone know what this is?

As far as I’m aware, not having a player in the goal square would be a 6-6-6 infringement so it should’ve been a warning.

Silvagni is the biggest flog, thinks he's tough. He always has an expression on his face like he's in pain. Can't wait for the day someone gives him what he deserves

And he always carries on like he’s so hard done by.

I assumed it was an incident in the goal square, not a 6-6-6 infringement

If you thought the umpiring was bad today wait until next week. Geelong will have 40 free kicks before half time

Agree, expect, diving, arms flung back push in backs from Hawkins, anything possible to get their goal scoring up.

Geelong play for free kicks big time, not just Selwood

The other thing is they will hold the ball and expect no free kicks against them

I am having a little bungee cord attached to my remote and secured to my wrist just shy of the length of the distance from couch to screen.
May also have to gaffer tape some pillows on to the dog.

They are the team of the lumpen bourgeoisie. Melbourne are the Teal independents. Hawthorn the timid, cardigan wearing moderate Christians. Carlton are the white shoe property developers.

I feel embarassed for Silvagni lol. I reckon he's trying to be like his old man but he unfortunately he's a peahart.

If you want to join a melee this is how you do it. See below from the 10 minute mark as the fight breaks out SOS runs from the other end of the ground and barrels through the pack to meet Ray Jencke face to face and not push some random player in the back and run away like a little bitch

Spot on. One win in a decade and the campaigners were laughing and giving it to Richmond fans who were leaving the game. It was pure pleasure to see those hypocrites leave ten minutes early on Thursday night.

What the hell has Shai’s family got to do with anything about last nights game?
Absolutely nothing. That's the point. The Carlton salt just shows that they've got their hopes up again and that loss really hurt them. Even Dunstall lowered his colours and he's normally quite measured. As the saying goes, we did a number on them

TBH, it's the only explanation for the bizarre inclusion of his family that makes any sense. It also makes a mockery of the underlying "how dare he mock a bloke who defeated cancer" subtext. If you include Bolton's family in the equation, then you have a collective that has survived invasion, massacres, a wave of deaths in custody and all of the assorted cruelty and oppression that is amplified in WA, probably the most racist state in Australia. They've survived to produce a bloke who is earning good money to produce sublime football. What has Docherty's family ever done btw?
the based analysis one would expect from a gramsci enjoyer
