When I don't get a player I want, I always feel like Coach in the first ever episode of Cheers, as shown here at the 2:45 minute mark.

I don't understand the hate for this draft class. We were never going to have a great draft unless we finished with a pick inside the top 10. Getting good players in the draft is good and all, but I'd rather win the premiership and get pick 18 then 'Win' the draft and get a Boyd, Whitfield etc.

This is one of the reasons I do not watch any "youtube" highlights of any players before the draft. Everyone thinks they are an expert after watching a player for 2 minutes unlike the recruiters who would have been watching the games on a regular basis. So therefore (no offence), I will back the club in with whatever decision they make as they would have seen a lot more of said player then anyone here on BF.

And at the end of the day I will support whatever Kern says (he would have the final say in the matter as to what type of player he wants)!

Even top 10 meant jack this year
Don't forget mini draft and GWC had already pillaged players, plus a few father sons.
10 this year was 15 normal times
never mind if it is a good draft.
Anyway, make the players, make a champion team, as against a team of champions

With our national and rookie drafting, I'm quite curious about whether we stuck to a best available list or had players that we were absolutely set on. It seems we didn't give a second thought to any sliding talent. Definitely seems like a needs over BPA draft.

I wonder if the 5 guys taken immediately before our picks were swapped with the 5 taken immediately after, if we would have done anything differently...

If that is the case and as you said, it seems it was, then I'm rapt 'cause it shows faith in the lads we have(and they will know it) and it only makes sense that we go out and recruit specifically for areas deemed in need of bolstering.

Yeah, we gave up A,B,C, and D and got J,K,L and M. Any of these eight could be superstars but I rather think that it's true what another poster said and that is that this rookie draft thing, is a lottery and not much if anything comes out of it.

To post like it's devastating that we got this one instead of that one, like some are doing, is days-of-our-lives shit whereas we should be saying to all these lads, "g'day, welcome to our club and all the best to ya son".

no offence taken mate i totally see where you are coming from

as i said a few posts after, Ken and the club have earnt a few credits and im sure they know what they are doing.
Yes youtube clips can be deceiving like Impeys Draft video was pretty average yet the Port scout video showed Impey as totally different (and much better) player
