Well boys and girls it looks like the start of a new era down Demonland way. Well, a temporary era until we pick up Bluey McKenna:p (I hope)

Anywho it looks as though the kids are set to come in at the expense of some tired and injured senior players of ours. Green, Neitz, Bell and Johnstone are all likely to miss through injury and I wouldn't be surprised to see Brown dropped after Friday nights dismal performance of sorts.

The good news is that we can welcome back everyones favourite Miller. Garland is a chance to play, as is Dunn. Rivers is also apparently pushing for selection.

For mine I'd say
Out: Green, Neitz, Johnstone, Bell, Brown
In: Buckley, Dunn, Frawley, Johnson, Whelan

I'm not sure what the story is with Wheels but if he's fit it'd be good to see him out on the park for a few games this season.

Carlton are mainly our bogey side and I'm not expecting too much going into this match. I would not be surprised at all if they beat us however I take heart in the fact that our loss this week probably hurt us a whole lot more than their loss hurt them. Teams usually put out a good showing under a new coach, or so the myth goes so my bias aside, I'm hoping for about a 2 or 3 goal win. Without Stevens and Walker who seem to murder us everytime we play them, I'm hoping for a good showing and exploiting their ruck deficiencies

Some good outs there, don't mind if we get the experienced players right for next year, Robbo and White would be another couple deserving of a rest. Hope they can time Neitz'a 300th against the pies, which would mean his misses the next two games. Very happy if we put together a team of youngsters and give Miller, Jamar and CJ another chance to prove themselves and let Whelan, Rivers, Moloney and Bartram get a few games under their belt if fit.

I think the general consensus is that Moloney and Bartram won't play again this season.

Would be great to see Neaves play, just to test the depth of our ruck stocks...Come to think of it, White rarely misses a game

White >>>> Ackland
Our midfield >>>>> Murphy and Carazzo
Waite and Fevola >>>>>> our backline
Looks like it could come down to how well our delivery is, and whether Juice kicks a bag or not. A real shootout this one will be IMO.

matty whelan no chance for this week, saw him at the game friday night after the siren, gave him a pat on the back and asked when he'd be back, he shrugged his shoulders and clearly dissapointed said he had no idea, was limping heavily aswell... didnt have enough time to ask exactly what the problem was..

Miller will be back, mark my words.

Dunn, Buckley and CJ should all get a run.

Green, Neitz, Bell and TJ will all miss. Thats 4 for 4.

Pickett should return also, game no. 200 if he does.

You know you're in trouble when you're relying on somebody in his second game to kick a bag.

i think our loss meant quite a bit because that was pretty much the last straw for pagan consecutive 80+ losses it will probably mean the end of him with carlton at the end of the year

Be interesting to see our record without Neitz since 2002 (when he first became a permanent full forward) and Carlton without Fevola since 2003 (when he first became a prominent goalkicker).

i think fevola is a big blow if he was playing in form but this is the first time i dont mind him being gone it just means waite and fisher are going to have to step up

seeing that Carlton might aim for priority draft picks instead, that's one more reason why they would lose.

This is the 3rd week in a row where Jeffery and PJ should have an absolutely picnic in the ruck. Past few weeks they've gone up against IIRC-

Richmond: Polak and Pattison
Essendon: Laycock and Ryder
Carlton: Ackland and the Irishman

Call me an idiot but I could have sworn that Jeff White alone is a far better quality ruckman than all of those 6. Not only that, but there's 2 makeshift ruckmen amongst those 6. Laycock probably did get the better of him but nonetheless, the gap in talent between our ruck division and theirs is huge. This week I honestly do expect a complete raw hiding in the ruck given that Ackland probably has the worst attitude when it comes to football in history other than Damian Stupido and the Irishman...Well, he's just a fullback isn't he?

Like I've said earlier, Carlton have the wood over us and I won't be surprised if we cough this up but dammnit, I don't give a rats anymore about picks I just want to see a repeat of 2004 when we're spanked them by 100 points

Death, Taxes and the Demons.

Davey to have a possesion PB.
PJ to kick 5.
newton and miller to kick 6 between them.

Not to rain on your parade or anything mate but to the best of my knowledge, PJ has not kicked multiple goals in a game...

Oh and with Miller and Newton, let's hope it's 5 to Juice

IIRC, he kicked 2 in his first game for us, v, Sydney, before he got injured.
