Prediction Round 16 Port Changes vs Crows

I'd like to see Sam Gray and Motlop never play a game for us again but it won't happen so I don't really care. Hope Amon comes straight back. The only reason I hope we win this is to disrupt the Crows potential run at a top 4 finish.

Would dropping Ollie actually do more harm to him than good?

Seems more a player that should be given a chance to respond. He will build form and fitness over that final few games and if we are any chance of making finals and doing some damage, he will be at the forefront.

That being said his game was a shocker and worthy of time in twos.

Drew, Motlop and Farrell out.

Rockliff, Amon and Howard in.

Howard down back. Bonner to play higher and creep onto the wing. Butters to play more as a small forward.

Out-S Grey-O Wines-W Drew-T Jonas-Think Ken will drop a 5th player.Should be Mottlop.
In-T Rockliffe-SPP-C Amon-D Howard-No5???

Ollie not facing the media ..
Hmmmm

As Coach Boone would say....

"You're not doing them any favours....You're crippling them"

Wines didn't face the media because he did the last Showdown press conference.

Not only will he play, he'll be best on ground.

I think he has a regular weekly gig on one of the radio stations

Too late. Should have been BOG last game. Captains with performances like that have cost us our season.

He absolutely better be. He has almost completely lost the support of the fans.

Amon>Motlop
Howard >Ladhams
SPP > Farrell
Rockliff > Drew
If we want more
Westhoff > Bonner
Ryder > S.Gray
Might be too tall then unless Howard goes back and Westhoff plays wing .
If Ryder plays he needs to draw players away from Dixon , he’s better in the pockets anyway . either that or we hold onto the ball a bit longer through half back and have a half forward flanker or third tall that leads up I’m keen for Marshall to come back in for that role soon Just bombing to a double or triple teamed Dixon doesn’t work .
I would expect Wines to have a good game . Can’t get a read on him this year so far but I don’t think he’ll be doing much extreme skiing this summer .
Jonas still isn’t at his best , thank gawd for Houston, Burton , Clurey and now Hartlett . Just need to use Howard down back sometimes if the oppo has taller forwards and defence is pretty good . It’s that centre half forward area that we don’t seem to want to use , maybe because we haven’t got reliable long range kicks lol . Marshall’s the man when he’s ready .

There was such a contrast in our physicality between the last 2 games, you don't like seeing players get suspended but we had to pay a price to get a good win against the Cats. But to then roll over and play the most timid game of our season in conditions that were perfect for a physical scrap was mind blowing.
You just know that Ken told them off for getting suspended

Selection this week is all about the forwards. Howard has to come back in as a Defender because he has to take Lynch or Jenkins. Bonner should drop out.

Powell-Pepper, Amon, Westhoff and Rockliff have to come back into the midfield.

This is my team:

Rozee-Dixon-R.Gray
xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx
Amon-Wines-Duursma
Burton-Howard-Hartlett
DBJ-Clurey-Jonas

Lycett-Rockliff-Boak

Westhoff-SPP-Houston-xxxxx

That leaves 4 forward spots for Ryder, Motlop, Ebert, Marshall, Butters, Farrell, Johnson, Mayes, Woodcock, S.Gray, Cox (my choices in bold).

Don't rule out Woodcock. 101DT points including 8 tackles last week in conditions that may be similar this week. A big game player as anyone who watched the SANFL finals knows. I would much rather have him in than S.Gray but I have a very low view of S.Gray obviously not shared by those within the club. It's his inability to kick over a jam tin and the number of team sapping clangers (that I call "Pittards") and his lack of upside. I can channel Allan Scott when I say no Port team will win a flag while fielding S.Gray.

After watching blicavs performance in the 2nd half against obrien id seriously consider bringing in ryder.

Blicavs just jumped all over him and made him look silly and ryder can do the same, but he needs to hunt the ball on the ground as well and not be a lamp post once it hits the ground.

And id apply teh same tactics that they did against max gawn, belt into him early.
