So, Ballantyne has been reported for striking. I haven't seen the incident, but I have a feeling he won't get off, especially since he'd have carry over points. Sylvia has been ok, but nothing special. He might come out too.

Apeness did enough to keep his spot I reckon, so most likely....

IN: McPharlin, Crozier
OUT: Sylvia, Ballantyne

Well to be fair, he was pretty much invisible this game.

C Pearce might come out instead of him, but I'm just giving my opinion.

You know Sylvia is playing in a forward pocket right? They typically don't rack up big numbers. People have been calling for him to be dropped every week since he debuted. He hasn't yet, and I can't see him being dropped this week either with Ballantyne likely to be suspended. He is pretty safe until Walters comes back IMO.

I thought he was good last week, but tonight I reckon he was average at best. He probably will keep his spot, but I won't be surprised if he doesn't.

Sylvia was OK.

OUT: C Pearce Ballantyne (SUSP)
IN: McPharlin Crozier

Mayne to play forward in Ballantyne role. Crozier sub.

C Pearce to get some confidence in the magoos - confidence looks shot.

I'm terms of how important percentage is I would have loved to have ballas next week. But normally striking off the ball
Charges don't go well. I really would think that with so much on the line these guys would keep their frustration in check

There would be 3 main questions for me.

Will Ballantyne be suspended? If suspended, Crozier or de Boer in.

Are any of our best 22 are fit again and ready for a recall; Hill, MacPharlin, Walters and Ibbotson? I am thinking we leave them on the sidelines till after the bye.

Is it better to continue to play all our vets, or do we give any of them an extended break? I am especially thinking of Mundy and Sandilands. Perhaps de Boer in for Mundy, with Sylvia and Morabitto getting more time in the midfield. And Griffin in for Sandi.

De Boer will definitely come in for either Sylvia or Ballas (if he is suspended). Bank on it.

I'd give McPharlin another week and bring him back against Carlton at home, along with......Michael Walters!!!!!!

I really hope Ross persists with Apeness. He is our only likely tall forward foil to Pavlich that we are likely to have this year, and could prove the missing ingredient comes finals time.

I agree. No goals but everything he did was pretty classy. Some good assists and once again strong in the contest. Allowed the others to kick a few and allowed Mayne to play back.

However the downside is that you would have thought if he was going to kick a few it would have been against GWS
