Autopsy Round 2 vs Bravedogs. Things learnt

Hannebery, Parker and Jack were all disgustingly bad. They all got shown up by players who have played almost no games at all in the AFL. If anything the kicking of all three has gotten even worse.

Its horrible that the 3 first gamers kicked 100 ties better than those 3. Did Hanners find a target all night? Was Parker even there? Jack is cooked as a mid, should only play forward.

Reid and Buddy were great up forward but we are really missing out in the crumbing department, the young blokes did a great job at times but there needs to be more consistency, can't wait for Papley and Rohan to be fit again. I think our mids are having a bit of a struggle working out their roles, now that we don't have Mitchell in there. In the first half Hanners in particular was doing a lot of spectating, he picked up late in the game when it was on the line and started getting in and under a lot more. I have faith they will work it out. Back line is doing OK, Lloyd is very good in particular without being overly conspicous, but having Macca back in a few weeks will be a huge boost. Aliir is a bit wasted playing at fullback, he's at his best when he's running the ball out.

I loved that in the last quarter we went through a middle a lot. We looked so much more dangerous. Although that was out of necessity more than anything.

Another officiating problem seems to be that people can just hold JPK before he even gets possession of the ball. What a bunch of bs.

I know it's only his second season but we miss Papley...like a lot.

If we don't make top 4 but manage to get a 5th or 6th spot and play in Sydney in the first week of finals with a fit team then I like our chances as much as anyone else.

Was at the game last night and came away pretty encouraged with the performance. It never really felt like we were going to win honestly but there was a point there when it could have turned into a huge loss and I thought it was a terrific effort to almost steal the win.

Can't really add anything to what's been said about individual players. Hayward and Newman in particular did some surprisingly great things and I'll be interested to see if they can build on that. Reid was obviously fantastic and it was great to see him do that in a milestone game. Parker, Hanners and Jack not where we need them to be.

The highlight for me though was seeing Aliir back. He was a little rusty and got beaten a few times in contests but there's just something about him. He's a real confident presence down there and is such a smooth mover for his size. We really need him down there because he can break a line and it generally a pretty good user of the ball. Just adds a much needed element.

Obviously next week is vital. Need to get on the board and it won't be easy.

Wishes granted by those who didn't want him.
Didn't appreciate your comments!
You didn't like my comments but as soon a Tippett went down you were quick enough to be a hero and jump on and say my wishes come true
I might not rate the bloke but I have never wished injury opon him or any player from any club

Not sure if you've heard yet, but it's being reported that the AFL are considering either overturning last night's result or splitting the points & declaring the Swans the first ever winner of a moral victory.

More to come I'd imagine...

Actually the report was that the 96 GF result was being reversed. ;)

I tried to be nice and talk about a young kid who did well for you, but I shouldn't of bothered if I'm gonna get this response.
Thanks for being nice.
We would prefer to see objective umpiring so young guys like Hayward can play on an even field.

We've lost our last four games against the Bulldogs. Maybe something needs changing?
Yep. Horse picked up on this last night. He basically said we don't get the calls on the "interpretations" and as such we mustn't understand how the umpires are going to call the rules anymore so we need to figure out exactly what they are going to call, when & how and work on it because we aren't obviously on the same page as the umpiring department.

I don't begrudge the dogs for playing to the rules given to them. Just like Selwood ducks/drops for frees... It's not illegal so why not use that advantage? It's gutless and weak but not against the interpretation of the rules afford.

We need to have a long hard look at what we must be doing wrong. We've got an interpretation wrong our end. Maybe we can tunnel the ball now? Maybe we should look at introducing more "flicking" handball into training? Maybe we need our boys to work more on researching the umpires as much as the opponents? It looks like our game is slowing being controlled more & more by the officiating, games are decided by the umpiring these days... So maybe we need to just accept it and try to own the game instead of assuming the rules are the rules as we interpret them. A throw these days is fine apparently. So is tunnel ball.

We gamed the AFL with the draft. We've gamed them with the trade period. Let's game them with the on field rules too. Stick it up them. Be the best damn "interpretors" in the AFL. If that's what will win us a GF then so be it.

I shouldn't even bother responding to this but to be perfectly honest mate, my focus wasn't on you wishing him injured but actually that you wouldn't have to face watching him for the rest of the year which is a dream come true based on your repeated thoughts about him. You've let us know. I let you know that you wouldn't have to worry about him any more. Nothing else!

But I guess you are entitled to think I meant you were happy he is injured.

"Farken idiot" is not something I would call any poster on here, Swan or other, but I don't get hot under the collar when watching a game of footy I guess.

You and I may want Cameron to play, but Horse can only see Sinclair.

Because Sinclair has the AFL experience to perhaps cope with a full game at this stage. Cameron's time will come & it may be this week but I feel he needs multiple games in the NEAFL to learn the Swans game style.

It's pretty simple.
You drop the ball in the direction of your player as you are being tackled. Or just before.

Works for them every time.

We, on the other hand, try and break the tackle or pass legitimately and get pinned over and over and over and ...

Disappointing to see Sydney fade after the fast start, starting with a brain fart from Zak Jones and his High bump on Cloke, WTF was he thinking.
Umps have been rightly scrutinised by the Media , will be interesting to see how many deliberate rushed frees are paid for the rest of the round.
Improved effort from the Port debacle , and again Reid stands out. Good effort considering the debutantes in the side, so things aren't all doom and gloom despite an 0-2 start.

The issue is he left his feet.

Considered deliberate with high impact to the body (2 weeks I think) down to 1 with early guilty

He's been charged with rough conduct. He didn't hit the piece of garbage's head. Jones was already in mid flight. What's he supposed to do to spoil a six feet four heap of manure marking? He done well the kid if you get my drift.
