Hi fellow AFL enthusiasts. We have a podcast over on the crows board that we record Tuesday night. We're looking for a Freo fan to join us around 10pm EST (8pm in Perth I believe) tomorrow night to have a 10 minute or so chat about the Dockers and the game. I've been led to believe someone like Seppo may be interested, but happy for anyone who's keen to jump onboard.

I'd be happy to volunteer my services, but be warned I sound like an angry Alf Stewart.

Crows will be missing Sloane, Douglas, B.Crouch, Jaensch - Hopefully B.Smith comes back in, but either way....

It aint gonna be pretty... for me.....

If we're lucky the AO crowd will be a big and noisy one and Adelaide get off to a good start, which means we might only lose by a couple of goals...

Game looks pretty much sold out from what I can see trying to get tickets. I would expect 40k+ depending on how many members turn up.

not sure, but I don't have a TV in the house anyway, so I never really know what's on FTA, so I go to a pub with Fox to watch all Crows games

....

just checked the schedule - Up against Essendon v Richmond dreamtime match - No chance of Crows v Dockers being on Melboune FTA

Changes only if forced.

Question marks over Pav and Suban. Ideally, would like to see us be conservative with Pav. We can't afford to take him in under a slight injury cloud and risk potentially compounding the problems with his hip.

Potential outs: Pav, Suban
Potential ins: Mzungu, Crozier

I do think that Duffield will come under some scrutiny from the match committee but will ultimately hold his place.

He'd want to put in a good performance this week as his last month has been fairly underwhelming and his position isn't exactly integral to the team at the moment. All of Johnson, C. Pearce, Ibbo, Sutcliffe and Spurr (although less so than the others) can generate rebounds quite effectively down back as well as defending against dangerous types. On top of this, we have the luxury of swinging guys like Hill, Mundy and now Sheridan off the HB line.

Our midfield is flying at the moment but I still think there's value in getting some experience into our younger players. It'd be nice to see Croz, Blakely, Weller given a go as the sub at various points throughout the season. Both for exposure and development as well as insuring our own midfield stocks should injury strike. Also, on the internet YOOF is everything.

Duffield is in the team so these players can play their own role.

No way Suban is going out. Pav might rest, Hannath can have a run.

I don't think anyone is dropping Subes based on his performance. That tackle he layed with his head looked pretty nasty and he seemed noticeably shaken up from it.

That said, I doubt there's much chance of a neck injury since he doesn't seem to have one...

As a side note, this week's game gives us an opportunity to have a first hand look at Jake Lever.

It could be a long day for the young fella but nevertheless we'll see what we bypassed at last year's Draft.

There is more to a role than touching the ball a lot. Someone has to cover the space.

To an extent yes, but at what point does a potentially more dangerous player become more valuable than a bloke who's ostensibly playing as a decoy half back flanker. To me it seems that eventually you have to weigh up the two.

I'll be in Stockholm for this match.

Anywhere good to watch the game there?

Seppo is there a thread for these sort of queries?

Not really. There was a thread floating around for watching the game overseas but that related more to using AFL live pass.

I'm probably in the minority, but I really wanna see Crozier in before Mzungu. Probably because we know what Gu can do, and will play just as great no matter where the team's at, or who the opponent is. Whereas in an undefeated team, with some decent opponents, it'd be a good learning curve for Croz.

I would say beware of the wounded animal, especially on a Saturday night against a strong opponent and coming off a loss but the injuries are pretty crippling atm. We had 7 of our best 22 out against GWS and then another go off in the 3rd and then another again in the 4th plus an injury to fringe player Kerridge in the 3rd. We should get Smith and Henderson back this week and we're all hoping Laird can get up because he's been one of our best all year.
You realise sylvia is retired, Zac Dawson is still injured? We are not carrying spuds or passengers in this side. Freo are not 8-0 because we fluked a few wins, freo have been more attacking than previous years. You say beware of a wounded animal, well a fox is most dangerous when cornered. Thats whats freo is at the moment. Block us off and the fangs and claws will be unleashed.

Clancee will be looked at. Probably the only changes will Pav rested and Clancee suspended. In Muz n toss a coin either Crozier or Matty.

Really happy nothing came out of this and Clancy has nothing to answer [emoji3]
