You see Foxtel started whinging mid way through 2002 about never getting games involving the "big teams" and always having to broadcast garbage like Kangaroos vs Bulldogs. So in the AFL's wisdom they thought they would make Carlton the "big team" that Foxtel could have. About 16 games last year, probably another 16 this year.

Why aren't Essendon or Collingwood ever on Foxtel? It's a simple answer - Ron Evans and Eddie Mcguire.

Actually Channel 9 go through the draw and pick their preferred game for Friday nights before the season starts and Channel 10 pick the best game available on a Saturday night 6 weeks in advance.
