Well because he’s stated ‘I’m taking the piss’ which is a good indicator that he’s taking the piss.

Secondly, i don’t know of any professional athlete, even the very dumbest ones, who would state in written language on a social media platform, a heartfelt genuine intent to take cocaine having been open in saying at earlier junctures that they had a problem with a partying lifestyle and recreational drugs. Given his obviously antagonistic behaviour like giving it back to fans who have given it to him, yeah, I’m pretty confident that combined with him actually stating ‘I’m taking the piss’ that he was taking the piss.

Feel free to disagree though, and that he was stating in front of his million or so followers and his sponsors that he was about to line up a drug meeting with one specific follower when we win the flag, because reasons.

Oh sorry PB, I hadn’t seen where he said he was only taking the piss. Was this on tv or radio or something?

No need to be so defensive, I can assure you if a Richmond player had posted that I wouldn’t know if they were serious or not. I’d certainly hope they were joking.

He posted it on Instagram in another post to say ‘it was a pisstake’ using those exact words.

As I said earlier I don’t deny it’s a silly thing to say but we talk about this stuff all the time in general conversation and make jokes about how players who’ve made such and such a mistake will do such and such to celebrate or commiserate when something happens. It shouldn’t be a huge surprise when they make the same jokes at their own expense.

Definitely joking, like Bomber Thompson was when he made the comment about selling frozen water. No-one would be dumb enough.....

So if a player who’s been in trouble previously for betting on games, got routinely trolled about it on social media and eventually someone said ‘Hey so and so, gonna have a bet on tonight’s game’ and he wrote back ‘Nah, might have a thousand on us to win the flag though’ you’d not take it as a joke because of what Bomber Thompson did 15 years ago.

You mean like you didn't take my comment as a joke?

The lawyer for a high-profile man accused of rape has called the alleged victim’s claims into question, as the case takes a step towards a trial.
Patrick Sinnott and his co-accused appeared virtually in Geelong Magistrates Court on Tuesday for a brief committal mention.

Mr Sinnott was represented by Holly Boylan, and his co-accused by silk Dermot Dann KC.

Mr Sinnott faces four charges, including digital rape and sexual touching without consent.

His co-accused has been charged with five alleged offences including oral and digital rape and sexual touching without consent.

All charges stem from an alleged incident that took place in Geelong.

No details of the alleged offending were aired during the brief administrative hearing. According to charge sheets released by the court, charges against both men were filed in February this year.

When the matter was called, the court heard a Form 32 had been filed and a date allocated for a two-day contested committal in September.

A Form 32, or case direction notice, informs the court of where a case is headed, indicating the outcome of discussions and whether a contested committal hearing, to test the evidence, is required before it is sent to the County Court for trial.

Mr Dann said there was an outstanding matter of disclosure, related to a download of the complainant’s mobile phone.

Mr Dann alleged the complainant had “admitted to lying to police” and “making these false allegations of rape”.

The court heard the informant had conducted a download of the complaint’s phone, however the communications sought by the defence, if they existed, would have occurred subsequent to the hand-up brief being served.

Magistrate Peter Mellas told the court that the prosecution had obligations, and disclosure needed to be complete prior to the committal hearing.

“If it’s come into existence, or if it’s known to exist, it needs to be disclosed,” Mr Mellas said.

However, given it was unclear if such material existed, he did not make any specific orders related to disclosure.

Prosecutor Nick Laidlaw told the court the complainant required a remote witness facility on the date, and he would speak with the police informant – the officer who charged both men – about the informant’s availability for the committal dates.

Mr Mellas granted the defence leave to cross-examine witnesses and adjourned the matter to the committal.

So nothing much has advanced at all then really.
Looks like he is going to be fighting it all year. Looking at the defence line of question on the phone you hope she hasn't made it up, it will ruin three lives and also make it harder for anyone else alleging the same. False accusations if there is proof should be named and jailed themselves.
