Rumour Rumors of cat player in big trouble

I suppose you have almost 100 posts in here clearly stating you don't understand what a suppression order is I'm not sure why I even tried to think you'd understand basic conversational English or what the word publicise means.
Its also clear you look through it with your rose coloured glasses but hey as you said "he shouldn't of been out there"

Publicising the fact that he still exists, when he hasn't played all year and isn't on the injury list anymore
I think everyone would assume he was still alive.

Not like me to defend Geelong and certainly anyone accused of such things but this tells me they are confident this isn’t going any further and are aggrieved at the effect on their season.

My guess.

publicized; publicizing
Synonyms of publicize
transitive verb
: to bring to the attention of the public

Go read twitter posts with 100k views on it with him standing on the ground, not sure how much more publicity you want?

No he didnt have a sign saying im the guy but what do you think is going to happen, more discussion more posts more publicity

You want another definition? Thanks catman

a happy or positive attitude that fails to notice negative things, leading to a view of life that is not realistic

Sounds to me like your pretty happy with Tanner being on the ground
I've said twice now I didn't think he should be on the ground, I'm starting to think you're a couple of 6 packs short

I think they've known for a while this isn't going anywhere but have had to wait and cop all manner of abuse on the matter, when they'd only be following legal advice.

I'm all for calling the AFL dumb, because they often are, but they would have had no prewarning/idea that this was going to happen.
The AFL would give competing clubs a certain number of passes into the ground and it's up to the clubs themselves to use them wisely. This is not something the league would micromanage. This would 100% be on Geelong, I wouldn't put it past Hocking that it is a deliberately provocative flipping the bird type gesture towards the AFL to parade him around on the ground after a loss.

I’m not just talking about this one event - it’s clear they need a no-fault stand-down for players being investigated for or charged with crimes. No playing, no public training sessions or events.

The NRL has it. Pay them a full wage. Hell, pay them a bit extra if required. But having alleged criminals out on show at public events is just ludicrous.

High profile athletes are a special case, they’re very public faces of their organisations, like the CEO of a business. You need to manage the PR side of it and not have them in the public eye.

This was the adversity Chris Scott mentioned. Thoughts and prayers in this difficult time for the Geelong Footy Club, so brave

Are you following the case or just taking potshots?

Did you cheer for Majak Daw after his court case?

My guess, knowing how the Cats roll, having a pass ready for this bloke was them flipping the bird once again at authority and oppo fans had they won.

When they didnt win, they could hardly take it off of him as that would make it quite clear his situation was being exploited and wouldnt go down well internally.

I’d say they know where this actually sits and are supportive of a young man.

Wasn’t it originally published in the initial reporting?

Name was only mentioned when it was assisting police with enquiries last year; once charges had been laid this year the suppression order came into immediate effect with no name mentioned from that stage

Someone did add the name to the court dates list before it was removed - so while you could find it, you had to go searching for it and have an idea of who your were searching for

Yeah but only the sleuths of the rumours board on BF have been able figure it out.
You’re joking right, posts on Facebook/twitter have been seen by millions, this narrative only bigfooty sleuths know is rubbish, anyone who follows football with a decent amount of knowledge knows

if the the arguement is oh but the general public doesn’t know even if they named him you could ask random people who wouldn’t have a clue who he is still wouldn’t know

Out of curiosity, depending on how the next part of the committal hearing goes in November, if the charges are dismissed without this even going to trail, what are you going to do?

Are you going to drop everything or keep going on your rants?

What do you mean? I think he could be very well innocent, doesn’t mean there should of been a suppression order in the first place or the club deceiving the general public saying finger injury or parading him out on the ground on grand final day

So if he’s innocent he will come back and play, there will no doubt be a stigma attached which is unfair but that’s how it is for anyone

Isn't it at trial now?

Regardless, you don't get found innocent. You get found not guilty. He clearly did something dumb for it to have got this far.
