I will have more respect for Geelong if they legit part ways with the accused, he put himself & the club in the position, regardless of if it was consensual.

Geelong should do what we weren't brave enough to do with Balta, which personally I think we should have parted ways with him.

Either way he will be booed all next season by every club supporter base you can just see it. will be another distraction for Geelong and I think they have enough already with Smith.

Player has been found not guilty. I'm fact, the case didn't even get that far when the prosecution saw the witness accounts....

That information aside, the case itself is extremely murky. A friend of the witness, moments after the woman had been ''coaxed'' into the car with two accused ''urged security to call police as she feared [his friend] would get r*ped'' and then, called the police himself.

Then you've got the witnesses, who people keep citing in here, saying they were ''told in the weeks after the night'' (by who?) that the woman had lied about the attack. Later, in the article, the witnesses are quoted problematically equating payment with consent: ''I concluded that is she consented and requested payment for services, she provided consent, therefore it is not right, if she reported it as rape, that is lying to police.''

Requesting or providing payment does not mean consent was given for everything (that may have allegedly) happened in the car.

I'm not sure what happened; none of us know. But the idiots quoting ''electronic payment'' as proof it's a lie, or saying he was found ''not guilty in the court of law'' are just plain stupid. He could be guilty, he could not be, we don't know. But take your stained glasses off and have a read over the situation.

Before a bunch of catters engage in whataboutism about Balta, no I don't condone that type of violence, nor defend it. But also if you have to engage in whataboutism, your argument might be kinda sh#t.

For what it’s worth, I think anyone who gets themselves in that scenario is stupid whether they are guilty or not.

But the fact is, everyone has sex. We might not agree with the way they like to or who they have it with but everyone does it. All that matters is that it is consensual. That’s the only debate and if he has done nothing that ISNT consensual and she has taken him for a ride (the actual truth might never come out) then that’s what happened and his biggest crime is being young dumb and full of… well you know the rest.

If he has done something wrong then I feel incredibly sorry for the young girl involved and I hope that somehow karma or the universe has its day and she can move forward and he gets his come-uppance. As things stand, legally at the very least, he’s innocent

Really? Check the main board and look through the Cats-centric threads and you’ll see the obligatory stack of cats fans. Then you’ll see a whole heap of tigers fans posting as major contributors. Of course you’ll see both in the Tigers-and-Cats threads.

You’ll seldom see many Cats posters in the Tiger threads. The Balta one might have been an exception though everyone was into him.

Even the Tom Stewart thing is still hilarious. The young Hawks player whose name escapes me who ironed out Miers earlier this year - I don’t even recall him being booed in the prelim. And that was a roundhouse arm to the head, THIS season.
