I agree the saints are the best team in the competition ... but geelong were the best team last year. I just think geelong will be playing better, this is one of the best teams they've fielded all year. It'll e close either way i think.St. Kilda are the best side in the competition by far, they showed on Friday night how good they can win win without being the best side on the ground
It barely ever eventuates. Someone will pop up like last year. Everyone would have looked at the matchups and just assumed guys like Young, Dew, Osborne and Ellis would lose their head-to-head battle. In 2005 Fosdike, LRT and Buchanan were in our best. In 2006 Richards was in our best. Big names don't always put in big performances. One of the smaller names will play well for St Kilda. I'm tipping McQualter to have a big game.I've just looked at both teams head to head and can't see anymore than 4 St Kilda wins on the ground.
Geelong will have them covered with the game done and dusted by half time.
The two Preliminary Finals results are interesting.
Two years ago, it was Geelong who were unimpressive and struggled to get over the line by 5 points. Port had a runaway training drill and won by 87 points. Youd think Port's preparation would be better right?
Wrong.
We all know what happened. The battle hardened Cats won by 20 goals.
Geelong's easy win last night does them no good for the Grand Final, I reckon. They've basically had two byes. They now have to come up against the best defensive team in the games modern history.
St.Kilda is a better team than Geelong. They've proven it in 2009, so far. Their prepration is better. And they will win. I hope they do, because they deserve it more than the Cats this year.
Geelong winning would be like Hawthorn winning last year. A team clearly inferior over the year getting over the line on the day.
St.Kilda has lost two games out of 24 by 2 points and 5 points. I can't see them randomally just getting beaten by 5 goals. It ain't gonan happen, especially with their tougher Preliminary Final which will leave them more battle hardened.
StKilda beat Geelong by a goal and that was because of an umpiring stuff up. Geelong came back from 5 goals down at quarter time. Is that clearly inferior? Also,StKilda only won on Friday on the back of some pathetic umpiring,so they are actually lucky to even be in the Grand Final. The two Preliminary Finals results are interesting.

They conveniently forget thatThink you might find it was umpiring stuff ups that got Geelong back into that game.
Remember the 50 that gifted Ablett the first goal?
Worst 50m penalty decision all year.
