Slightly OT - SANFL Tribunal from GF

James Gowans got 3 weeks for his king hit on that Rooster Lad whose name i can't remember

SANFL tribunal = JOKE!!!!!

I hate centrals, but did you see the hit he copped from Schubert in the first place. Schubert should of got 8 weeks. If someone hit me like that, id belt them back aswell. In case you didnt see it, it was the carbon copy of Gowans hit.

Agreed. It deserved perhaps 6 games.

However, the instigator of the incident, that is the North player who did exactly the same thing to Gowans first, but with about half the force about 30 seconds earlier, got nothing at all. He wasn't even reported FFS.

So, considering that, 3 is about right. Both players got a 3 game discount IMO.

Precisely. The Gowans hit was the retaliation, not the instigating action.

p.s. I think 8 weeks is a bit of an over statement, and I think Gowans hit him back much harder. Still Schubert got nothing for his end of the bargain, so 3 games, while probably a bit soft for the action, is pretty harsh compared to Schuberts nothing for pretty much the same thing.

Cant the SANFL report from camera footage? Surely this should be the case - especially in finals, when all games are covered.

3 weeks is very lucky, retalliation or not, should of got more.

I don't think the SANFL can, but club officials can (and I'm surprised Centrals haven't reported Schubert for his first hit).

In light of the mitigating circumstances, 3 matches is a fair penalty. If someone bothered to report Schubert I'd been happy if he got 3 as well.
