Doesn't make sense to me to have Grimley in the forward in that team. You're only using Wyatt to be able to swap Tippett to ruck, which Grimley can do himself. You're just using up 2 spots to perform a role that 1 player can do.
For Round 1 loophole option I figure. Could be pending if Petracca is ready to go (which it doesn't seem so).

What do people think then of running with Currie as R2 with say Grimley as bench cover and Tippett in the forward line....with no more sub rule I can see sides going back to more of the traditional 2 ruck set up and he's performance on the weekend was solid enough to warrant selection you would think, providing he performs like that in the remaining nab cup games.

This system only worked well when we had an R4 doughnut to loophole the better score between the R2-R3. If you go down this path of having a playing R3 then a 102k non playing R/F like Loersch parked at F8 would be beneficial to maximise the best 22 on field score between Grimley and Currie.

because Collingwood play Friday night R2, then Sat arvo R3 leaving only Port & Ess who have no captaincy options except maybe R.Gray.

Gotcha.. wyatt isnt locked there.. was just a place holder until i decide what i want to do if i go down the loophole route.

R3 may not be our loophole option this year.

Agree with this. If Adams (WB) is not named for Rd1 I will pick him, he can double as C and E loophole across the Def & Fwd lines with McTip & Brown for the first part of the season at least and might even end up as decent bench cover when/if he does get some games. WB play a lot of the later games of the round(s) before the byes, so he would be ideal for loopholing purposes.

I've studied the game times and came up with the same guy, Marcus friggin' Adams, you beat me to it. Adams gives the possibility of maybe eventually playing (mature age) plus the WB draw suits loopholing very well up to the byes. DEF/FWD makes for a good match with M.Brown as you said.

i think there could be a spot for both nicholls and currie, with the sub now goneskies. although talking longevity thoughout the season, i think we'd rather just play one ruckman and have someone like day doing the backup ruck when nicholls rests.

can't really tell how they'll structure the team until the first round unfortunately. i think the fact currie is at his 3rd club, and has never been a big SC scorer, i'd stay away. seems like a waste of an upgrade trade & cash after a couple rounds when he's either not playing or barely reaching his breakeven. there's gotta be better ways to spend 160k.
Perhaps Wright gets a crack at R/F role? Played it as a junior

If you swap all your premium rookies (MacKenzie, Francis, Mills, Parish, Kennedy and Anderson) for $123,900 rookies, you save yourself $524,600.
That's enough to upgrade 2 of them to genuine keepers and plug some other holes.
At the moment you only have 10 genuine keepers (Shaw, Dangerfield, Pendlebury, Beams, Rockliff, Cripps, Liberatore, Martin, Martin and Barlow), with Cripps and Liberatore only being borderline keepers. Then you have a bunch of premium priced players who are far from guaranteed to be keepers (Kolodjashnij, Docherty, Rich, Lobbe, Wells, Anderson, Kennedy) and the premium priced rookies.
You just have wasted way too much money on stop gaps. Need to think about your end game more, or you will crash by midseason, when everyone else has upgraded to their full team.

Thanks for the advice. Had another play around with it.

I could swap out Naitanui for Goldstein and downgrade Shaw to B. Smith. Not sure whether I've neglected my forwards too much though?

Where is GAJ?

PS - McVeigh is dodgy for round 1 apparently - very limited pre-season

Looks better mate.
I know I told you not to get his price range, but I'd be inclined to get Wells back. Just bring McVeigh down to Smith and Sumner up to Wells. Wells is one of the kind of must have guys (assuming he gets through the pre season).
You can go to Goldy if you have the money, but I think Nat is a solid choice.
Get Ablett too. Probably for Beams, who is a bit iffy with health.
Other than that, I think you've got a pretty solid structure now. Just need to sort out the right choices for rookies.

Could be my final team (pending injury/rookie selections). Taking a chance on Wells. Rucks are set and forget. Bloody hard to pick those top 3 backmen. Shaw is a lock but after that, it's anyones game. Forwards pick themselves just about.

Think Dawson could easily play 15 games this year. Has something we lack in a booming kick and could play as a high half forward, IMO. Smokey for a decent cash cow.

With Supercoach would it be better to pick Naitanui and have 40k left over or spend it all and pick someone like Sam Jacobs?

I have created a mid price team for a bit of fun this year. (not actual team)
Thoughts and if there is anyone i have missed or think should be in there, please tell.
19k left over

I'd personally go NicNat. He has more upside.

Might be worth switching out Pendles for Fyfe to use the remainder or just keep Pendles? Is there any benefit in having ~40k leftover going into the season?

Up to you man. It's nice to leave a little slop money at this point in the off-season in case you need to swap out a rookie for someone more expensive or something pre-lockout.
Some people like to keep a bit of money, some people don't. I don't usually, just because I like to make the most of every dollar I get. But there's no point spending extra for the sake of spending the full cap. That money will be usable at some point.

might be given a go throughout the year. although rucks are a bit more prone to injuries, so i think we'd probably rather not play wright in the ruck if we don't have to, seeing as he's still young and his preferred role is up forward.
