in my opinion, rutten is better at one on one contests - and i'm a port supporter
having said that, ill vote scarlett, because he is great at ground level for a full back, also great at clearing the last line, and ain't to shabby at one on ones either haha

I hate the Crows, but I think Rutten is a better one on one defender. Scarlett may be able to provide better run, but if I had to pick on i'd take Rutten first.

Scarlett, but not by much. I think Rutten will be taking a back seat to Bock in the next few years as he doesn't have the pace to go with the Franklin and Fevola types who will be the most dangerous forwards for quite a while. He'll still do good jobs on Tredrea though

Very close contest, I am a crows fan here, Rutten is better one on one and has a better record against the big, strong and muscular power forwards such as Brown, Gehrig and Tredrea. Scarlett is better at nullifying an opponent and attacking so creates a bit more all round damage. Rutten is the better pure full back for stopping (and yes he does create some run too) but Scarlett overall is pretty damn good. Has a yard more pace as well. I'd take both...but Scarlett by a nose.
