From what I understand, ScoMo is widely disliked in VIC, although I accept that said dislike predates OMICRON.

Quite a few of the retirees in QLD were less than thrilled about it, although I expect much of that anger to dissipate come election time. In Brisbane, inflation + oil prices and their effect on working families (professionals and especially tradies) will likely be a bigger issue. Plus ScoMo has put off inner-city Brisbane by moving the party closer to ON and introducing a more overtly religious element.
Inflation, oil prices, and omicron can't really be pinned on ScoMo.

I'm yet to meet anyone who admits to liking ScoMo. Is it too late for the LNP to give him the boot?

Inflation + oil prices are part of what John Howard called the 'felt economy', and in his autobiography he acknowledges how that was a factor in his 2007 defeat, even though obviously he had no real control over it.

I disagree about OMICRON. Granted, it would have spread anyway, but ScoMo's approach towards it came off as very insouciant, and was epitomised by his failure to make sure RATs were quickly and widely distributed so people could self-isolate if necessary. That would have spread the disease faster, and more, than was necessary.

I agree that RAT's were a major failure, but I view that separately to omicron. I have no issue with the spread of omicron in Victoria, and in some ways view it as a positive given its milder symptoms. The spread of omicron was preferable to further lockdowns and missed schooling.

Yes, I can understand that POV given that VIC suffered disproportionally from previous COVID variants.

QLD were largely spared that, save for the odd outbreak in Brisbane, but OMICRON basically swamped the state, so the felt impact would have been quite different, especially considering our relatively high population of retirees and our reliance on mining for revenue.

To show empathy for what people are going through, would be a friggen start.

Yes it would be, but given ScoMo's penchant for spin over substance, I wouldn't take much notice even if he did say something TBH.

Following up with actual assistance is more important.

I can't believe he hasn't even addressed the shortages of food products on WA shelves atm. Not having any taco shells or burrito pockets available is absolutely killing me.

Heh, in my electorate (Petrie) random shortages were a thing for weeks.

Regrettably, it looks like WA now gets to 'enjoy' the same thing.
