Event Season 34 Mobbenfuhrer Medal Count

Hello and welcome to the Season 34 Mobbenfuhrer Medal count to determine the SFA's best and fairest.

The Mobbs Medal is awarded to the best and most consistent player as judged by the Sim. Each game, the sim randomly generates text commentary, stats as well as the best 3 players for each game. These votes are collected by the Simmers and sent privately to the Admin to be recorded.​

Tonight there will be several honours awarded.

• Frankston Rover Award Presentation (Award for best contribution as awarded by the Administrator)

The official count will commence shortly, but first I would like to say a massive thank you to volunteers who made this night possible. The game-by-game write-ups are done by DenieD, mwerps, Grand Uncle Horace, Mooch and also some assistance from Dingster. Hate will once again be providing milestone graphics throughout and over the course of the night damicky will be roaming across the room interviewing some prominent personalities in the Sweet FA.

I'd also like to thank the sim team Barrybran, Cadsky, Dingster, philreich, Wosh and FootyGuy13 on the tremendous work done across the season. manangatang on helping manage league affairs and Ljp86 on reliably posting the ladder on a weekly basis as always.

The first round of the season kicks off with a rematch of the grand final of last season between East Side Phoenix and Roys FFC. Phoenix were hoping to hurt Roys almost as much as they hurt them in season 33, but it just wasn't their day... again.

Roys took control of the game early on, kicking 6 of the first 8 goals of the game. Phoenix did their best to keep themselves in the game off the back of Tim Evans Beard and The Blue Weirdo giving them a lift in the second quarter.

Roys continued their superb late season 33 form and dominated the second half, particularly the 4th quarter where they kicked 5 goals to 2 and ran home 47 point victors.

So much optimism surrounded the start of the season with the Dragons and Wonders. Where did it all go wrong? The warning signs were all there in round 1 when neither team could give the other a killing blow. Wonders couldn't kick straight and Dragons couldn't handle the loss of Bonz in their forward line.

Dragons got off to a good start kicking 4 goals to 3 in the first quarter and kept themselves in-front by a point for both half-time and 3-quarter-time breaks. But it wasn't enough to stop the onslaught of behinds that Wonders mustered in the final quarter to put themselves in-front by 4 points to win the game.

The co-captain duo of damicky and Brenton Davy dominated the midfield with 14 tackles between them. Cubs2Lions was everywhere with 26 disposals. Chief had 20 kicks and Strigoi had 17 handballs but they couldn't quite link up enough to get the win.

Coney Island started strong with 4 goals to 2 in the opening quarter. But then only managed 6 more goals for the game as the Bombers waltzed their way to a 30 point victory off the back of some brilliant defending.

SBYM had a brilliant game with 30 disposals, 10 marks and 2 goals, trying their absolute best to bring the Warriors to victory, but it wasn't enough. Bovo was a tackling machine with 11 massive tackles. Sun Ra dominated in their first game with 29 disposals, 6 marks and 2 goals. kickthething was great in the ruck, thoroughly beating Tonga Bob in hitouts, disposals, tackles and goals.

Another round 1 filled with hope for the Las Vegas Bears as they attempt to overcome their finals woes that have haunted them for the past 7 seasons. Royals have had success not too long ago, but are seeking to find that form once again.

Gold City started out strong kicking 4 goals to zero in the first quarter and putting a stamp on the game. Las Vegas tried to respond in the second, but Royals had all the answers and kept themselves 25 points in-front at the half. Bears clawed their way back in the third to be just 6 points behind, but it wasn't enough as Royals kept scoring to end up as 6 point victors.

Senor M had a brilliant game on the wing with 25 disposals and 9 marks. terrybull cracked double digits in the tackle count with 10 to his name. CakeEater got 20 disposals, 5 tackles and a goal to kick-start his tremendous season. GreyCrow got the most hitouts in the game with 8 along with 23 disposals and a goal.

The new expansion team Ophidian Old Boys set out to show everyone just how tough they are in their very first game. Gumbies were hoping to do better than another straight sets exit like the previous season.

Ophidian got out to a flyer. They dominated the opening term with 7 goals to zip and the game seemed over already. Gumbies steadied a bit in the second but they were still well down against this new expansion club. Old Boys controlled the game again in the third term and cruised home as 43 point victors.

Tigerturbulance dominated in his first game as Old Boys captain with 29 disposals, 10 tackles and 2 goals. U2tigers was everywhere as a ruckman, moving all around the ground with 33 disposals, 7 tackles and a goal. Previous FRED medallist Bonz was a monster in-front of goal with 8 big ones. DenieD got 27 disposals, 10 tackles and a goal as he tried his best to keep up with turbo. CatToTheFuture matched U2 in the ruck and managed to go forward and kick 4 goals.

Swamprats got out to an early lead off the back of great ruckwork from GremioPower . Then Mount Buller dominated in the midfield through Greenery sante and manangatang in the second quarter to get themselves out to a 21 point lead. Swamprats managed to claw back the deficit to just 7 points in the third, but then fell away in the final quarter as the Demons went on to win by 15 points.

philreich hit almost every stat line possible with 27 disposals, 4 tackles, 3 marks and 3 goals. ShaunDuggan was the top tackler for the Swamprats with 7. GremioPower dominated in the ruck with 16 hitouts, 23 disposals and 2 goals. Greenery (Crimsonviolet) played brilliantly in his first game for Mount Buller with 32 disposals, 9 marks and a goal. Headless and Azarole got 4 goals each. manangatang almost copied what CV did on the other wing with 28 disposals and 6 marks. Proper Gander and Tarkyn_24 combined in the midfield for 17 tackles. sante in the center combined with the Mount Buller wingers to make a dominant centre line with 28 disposals and 6 marks to their name.

Dragons and Swamprats lost their first round of the season, so both teams were desperate to get their first win of the season in round 2. Dragons were on their front foot early, taking the lead in the first quarter. Sin City would then kick 9 goals over the next 2 quarters to only 4 goals for the Dragons to take complete control of the game. Swamprats ran home 33 point victors and kept Dragons winless for another week.

T2B_ and ant555 had nearly identical stat lines for the game with both getting 21 disposals and 10 marks. Pie 4 Life was well liked by the umpires this game with 9 frees for to go along with their 21 disposals and 6 tackles. Hatchy1992 and okeydoke7 battled it out at both ends of the field with each netting 6 goals. darthmann was a tackling machine with 11 to his name. GremioPower continued his hot start to the season with 17 hitouts and 23 disposals.

Another game with 2 winless teams from round 1. This time Gumbies got out to a big lead in the first quarter and managed to keep their control on the game for the whole 4 quarters. Coney Island could only kick 7 goals as Gumbies were raining goals at the other end to win by 89 points and doom the Warriors to the bottom of the ladder.

beez had a tremendous game with 30 disposals, 10 marks and a goal to cap it off. Brick Loosener got moved into the ruck early in the game and it paid dividends with 15 hitouts, 33 disposals and 2 goals. Rodney Dangerfield completed the mighty triple threat centre line with 27 disposals and 3 goals. 7 goals from the full forward Barrybran helped him gain confidence in the run for the FRED medal. poopoopantskyle (what kinda name change is that?) got 21 disposals and 5 tackles for what was a tough day at the office for the Warriors.

Royals and Old Boys won their first round match-ups and were both vying for top of the ladder early on in the season. It was a difficult first quarter for both teams as only 3 goals were scored in a very defensive opening term. The game opened up in the second and Old Boys benefitted from the free-flowing game much more than the Royals. Ophidian would go on to dominate the second half with 12 goals to 3 to continue their great early season form.

Elton Johns Wig had an outstanding game with 30 disposals, 9 marks and a goal. Callums_Guns was the best tackler on the day with 10 tackles. Tigerturbulance and U2tigers continued their great start to the season with 25 and 26 disposals to go along with their goal each. Bonz kicked 7 goals to once again lead the FRED medal early in the season. CakeEater and nahnah combined for 13 tackles in the midfield.
