I have no idea where this comparison comes from.

firstly assess the correlation

then consider if dividing people by race is better of worse than saying "where is the white supremacist lab" or even something that can't be posted on BF

I wonder if these same people would be for dividing buses with white seats and black seats? Of course not they would say, dividing a bus would be racist........

I've also noted another strong correlation between defendants of 18c and those promoting the concept of denying people the opportunity to participate in the economy based on nation of origin, immigration status or nationality.

Ask these same people if a big bad racist employer, who denies a worker the right to work and the right to provide their family based on nationality, immigration status or nation of origin and the SJW would be up in arms. Yet supporting legal concepts that deny people the opportunity to work and provide for their families based on nation of origin, immigration status or nationality is fine.

It seems saying something bad is far worse than denying people the right to work and provide for their families based on nation of origin, immigration status or nationality. With the one qualification that it is done by BIG GOVERNMENT or union but not some HORRIBLE BOSS.

Clearly one is discrimination and the other is not! SJW logic.

So it's racist that I can't work in America?

Using their own argument against them, if people want the right to say whatever they want, then that means people like me have the right to call people racist and bigoted *******s. You can agree or disagree on whether whatever ****head in question is actually a racist/bigot or not, but calling someone that is not shutting down free speech. Shutting down free speech is telling someone they can't say something, and usually that is not what the "lefties" do.

repealing or more accurately amending 18C doesn't mean people have the right to be offensive or slanderous. A properly drafted 18c only requires the removal of two words. Further, other laws still remain in place to cover of your example.

Hopefully the lefties appreciate it is about seeking balance and perspective rather than just a collective SJW crusade.

yes and it IS a breach of US law to deny you the right to work based on your nationality, nation of origin and immigration status. Australian law needs to catch up to the US re discrimination. That said, US society needs to catch up to Australian culture when is comes to discrimination.

No it's not, refer recent controversial EOs. Tony Abbott tried all this if you don't agreed with free trade your a racist crap. He couldn't pull it off, and you're certainly no Tony Abbott.

no it's not? not what?

discrimination based on nationality, nation of origin and immigration status isn't discrimination?

The average voter in Armadale, Elizabeth and Broadmeadows and in middle class places like Bull Creek and Kingsley do not give a flying toss about the crusade to remove 18c nor do they have much respect for the racist card being played by big business employers who are trying to deal with s**t being hung on them over employing foreign workers on $8/hour when there are many locals looking for work.

you're right

- it is a shame our government has an anti sex discrimination act that it is exempt from and thus can discriminate in the marriage act

- it is a shame our government has a racial discrimination act that it is exempt from and thus can discriminate against people from participating in the economy based on nation of origin, nationality or immigration status
- it is a shame our electorate is too dumb to realise these artificial barriers are weakened in a globalised economy and businesses have up and left Australia because of power price, red tape, green tape and wage cost.
- it is a shame the electorate was against the TPP, when we (Australia) had the most to gain

Perhaps if the electorate did care, bothered to understand the issue, we would have a better government and economy. This in turn would deliver a better future for the next generation.

I guess when people are desperate, they can only focus on the here and now.

Thats exactly what lefties do, they dont want a debate about ideas, they want to enforce a group think solution (usually sourced from the bowls of the ABC) on all. Anyone who doesnt agree is a racist pig or whatever other expletive they come up with.

So... the internet represents the majority, does it? You do realise the vocally political on the web are just a loud minority on both sides, right? Most people don't get into politics with emotional fervor and hysteria.
