Hi Swans fans. My husband is turning 40 this year and I want to give him a very special present. Back in 2005 or early 2006, a show was broadcast (maybe on OneHD? We don't have Foxtel so it was free to air) called Shake Down The Thunder about the Swans season building up to and winning the grand final. My husband tried to burn it on to DVD but it messed up and he missed the most important part (Nick Davis v Geelong in the Preliminary).
I would love to be able to surprise him with a full copy of that show. Did anybody on here record that show and be able to get me a copy? I would be paying for it of course. His birthday is in June so we have time to locate one if you know a friend of a friend or something.
Please don't let my Collingwood allegiance put you off ;) I really am a nice person and he shouldn't be punished for marrying into the black and white LOL!
Thanks for your time :) :footy:

I don't know if what we are talking about is the same thing but in my 2005 Victory's Pack their was a Disc 5 that was a week by week highlights package that went on for about an hour from Rd 1 - GF including the Davis game.
Either way I would recommend that package because it has that and the finals series in pretty good condition & shouldn't be too hard to find on the Swans website or on Ebay.

EDIT: Just did a google search and don't think it's not the same thing. The one you mentioned seems more documentry-esque. Nevermind.

Yeah Vonn he has the Victory Pack and I sounded him out about it being the same thing and he said it wasn't. I wish I could remember what channel it was on but if I ask him too many questions about it he might get a bit suspicious.

I know the exact thing you are talking about and I have it on good old VHS (somewhere)... Probably ruined and lost by now though... I think the above link would be a more reliable option but if it all doesn't pan out then let me know and I'll see if I could sort something out. :thumbsu:

I'm certain I have it on DVD but it is in storage back in Melbourne, while I'm here is S.E. Asia. I did find some info here. http://www.spiralworksproductions.com/#/tv/4549284926

I'm not sure if this company (Spiralworks) produced it but may be worth contacting them to find out if so, where it can be bought. There phone number and email address appear at the bottom of the web page. Also directs to a short video preview on Youtube of 'Shake Down The Thunder' documentary which is what you are looking for.

I hadn't heard of it until now either. I just ordered a copy from the guy in the thread mentioned above. Apparently it's not great quality but I don't care.

Bit of a bump. I have a crappy copy I stupidly scaled down to carry around on my ipod / iphone but it looks awful on the tv. Does anyone have a full-size digital copy?

I think so, but I'd have to find it first! I've since moved house and it would probably be at my parents' place. I distinctly remember my Dad sending me a DVD of this when I was overseas. If I manage to find it I might look into uploading it when I get time, I've been downloading too many AFL shows recently and need to improve my ratio otherwise my IP address will get banned :p
