Looking from afar the sanctions seem overly excessive, to punish a team over consecutive years is IMO is way too harsh. Why would a player sign with a club already on its knees when they have little chance of making finals. Contrary to what gets spruiked on most forums cash is not the driving force for most players, its still the desire to win a flag with your mates which drives most players to turn up each Saturday. Removing Doveton's ability to compete on a level playing field over multiple years, the SFNL may as well have signed its death warrant.

Yes absolutely you are spot on but this is a huge task before they had these sanctions put in place but this is what happens when you basically let a one person run a club and do whatever they want while others sit back and let it happen
There seems to be more issues here than just a bad position off field. Most blokes playing thirds and ressies for that matter couldn't care less about the money or politics at a club. The eagles have lost every coach across all their teams and nearly every player. This is a club has has been traveling pretty well for 5 years or more now. This is a very strange position for any club. Maybe similar to what happened at Mount a couple of years back?

I think the club will end up playing thirds. The league should have placed the side there in the first place to avoid further disruption. Maybe keep them there for 2 years as punishment instead of the whack that was handed down.

Are Doveton looking to join the Outer East comp in 2021? Pointless continuing under those restrictions and geographically it probably makes sense for them to move anyway.

And everyone thinks they'll be uncompetitive in the SFNL.
They'll get mauled in AFLOE.

TBH I am not overly familiar with footy out that way, didnt know if the standard was higher or lower either way if the sanctions stand I doubt they will be able to continue anyway.

Yeah they aint going to outer east thats for sure.. and the league actually got this right, cant allow this to happen ever again

doubt the old pres will be showing his face around the club anytime soon. How one bloke could destroy a local community sporting club through greed and ego is unbelievable.

He was on here every day over the last few years gone very quiet as you would

Heard the former coach fixed him up at the Hallam hotel a few weeks ago.

Won’t see Puglsy Carrol until round 5 if playing. Spat the dummy in the finals and copped 4. Runs in the family apparently. Post Xmas lunch it’s a free for all outside granny’s house .

so your the bloke who sits behind a keyboard and bags people but would never have the balls to say it to his face. Good stuff tough guy.

So super assistant Dipper not at Clayton for season 2020. Probably expected to be Senior coach by now, I think that was the master plan. Anybody know which club he has gone too ?
