I like watching the American crime shows on the crime channel, but it is clear from watching them that they have significant problems solely because of the ease of access to guns. But so many people are convinced that their lives would be much worse off if they didn't have access to guns, that nothing changes. Bizarre and downright scary.

Try and buy half a dozen high powered semi automatic rifles in Australia and see what happens. You can claim that no amount of gun laws would have prevented it, but it sure goes a long, long way in doing so.
There was one found dead inside a hotel room, and from what was over the police scanners, the police were very much still on the hunt.
