Society/Culture Shooting attack in Vegas

Why have we not seen footage of the incident, assuming it happened in hallway where there would surely be cameras. Correct me if im wrong but i havent even seen a picture of the security guard in the media yet?
Because if it's CCTV, the police aren't just going to upload it to their '****ed up s**t that's happened' channel on YouTube/Live Leak for the world to look at. That's not how they do business.

Yep. Which is why I don't really understand how 200 rounds was sprayed through a door in the hotels hallway, hitting a lone security guard who stayed put for another seventeen minutes until the cops got there. Cops who incidentally, were surprised to see him posted on the floor.
OK sorry I am having trouble connecting this in with people knowing what a gunshot sounds like - maybe I am seeing conspiracy theorists everywhere?

Or is this a thread that doesn't need picking at?

I was responding to ShanDog a page back ... okay shuffling back over to the conspiracy board now

I was also not sure what the point you were making was. Is it that given the gun-ownership and knowledge levels in a place like Vegas, the security guard being killed should have been reported rather than police 'stumbling onto him' well after the fact?

Fair point, but either way you’re going to become pretty aware of SWAT being outside your hotel room even if you’re shooting a million bullets.

If you’ve got time to blow your brains out you’ve got time to check if you’re about to get taken down.
Maybe the cameras were offline. Maybe they were s**t cameras anyway. Maybe all the noise around him- alarms going off, people screaming, etc. made him think the game was up.

It was up to 11 minutes he was shooting- relatively speaking that's a ******* long time and as I said before, I imagine time moves a little differently when you're balls deep in a murder spree.

I don't really think he grew a conscience. We'll never know though.

There's no video of him arriving at the hotel, checking in, carrying his bags, etc.

We saw Mohammad Atta.

It would be vision of him going up an elevator with large bags / suitcases multiple times over a few days. It's hardly exciting stuff.
Have you watched the news lately? This kind of "watch the killer check in with multiple bags" would fill 24 hours on most cable news channels.

As I said, we had footage of Mohammad Atta going through security within a week of September 11.

So, the news hasn't gotten a hold of anything yet.

What does this mean?

Perhaps because he was using the service elevator which happens with VIP's and high profile guests. (maybe they're not covered by CCTV) The CEO of the casino resort in an interview, without prompting, offered a denial that Paddock would not have used the service elevator without a security officer accompanying him. Nobody had even mentioned a service elevator.

From a practical point of view, these semi automatics are not designed for such rapid fire as you get by fitting a bump-fire stock to it, so consequently they overheat really fast. This seems the reason for him having so many guns in the hotel room. As one overheats he just picks up the next and keeps going.

iirc, early days when we were moving from the SLR to steyr, there were problems with the magazine melting on the steyr when in full auto.

While you're right, there are really three main types of these attacks, aren't there?

Race-based violence, religious violence and nationalist violence eg. IRA.

I couldn't really come up with anything substantive beyond those 3 main categories.

Of course, those categories don't seem to really cover Paddock so far, and I guess that's partially why his motive is so hard to determine.

Sandy Hook, Hoddle St, Queen St are 3 I can think of straight away that don't fit 1 of those 3 categories.

If I had a good think about it there are lots of others I could probably come up with in a short space of time.
