The scary thing is, he'd provide a better contest than Shane Woewodin. :o

Libba was short. 160 something.

A rapid-fire Google reveals Libba to be 164cm, thereby rolling Callery and most other shorties nominated.

Anything under six foot (183cm) is considered relatively short these days (and not just in football terms). Kudos to all the little people playing AFL.

Nathan Thompson? He just seems about a foot too short every time he leads for the ball, only to run straight under it, not getting near it.

Brent Harvey 168cm which is slightly shorter than Libba but I reckon that Paul Callery was even shorter than Harvey.

I had a conversation with Libba in the centre of Optus Oval some years ago and I am 5'6" in the old scale and we were eye to eye, on that basis I'd have to challenge that 164cm. Either way I agree, credit to all the little people.

What was Liberatore? I'm pretty sure its 168cm or 163cm but not sure.

How tall is Richard Hadley

Isn't he 190cm? I'm probably wrong.

Sydney have plenty under 180cms, unfortunately.

Schmidt.
Williams.
Crouch.
Willoughby.
Buchanen.
Schneider.
Plenty more.

Even our KP's are short - Barry at 184 and CBolton at 188.

Let's settle this once and for all. From the archives:

The shortest man to ever play AFL/VFL football was James "Nipper" Bradford who played for Collingwood and North Melbourne in the 1940s and stood a mere 155cm or just a tad over five foot nothing in the old money.

Paul Callery is listed at a massive 165cm or just under five foot five and was the shortest player of his era.

Danny Craven who played for St Kilda and Brisbane comes to mind. He must be around Libba's height can anyone find out how tall he was?
