Just looked at the ladder, surely they didn't get match points for that disgraceful performance ?????
Yeah I'm wondering the same thing. Its been kept so quiet at the moment and been what 10 days now surely its gone straight to police for criminal charges. Its the right thing to do as naming the culprit will bring out the avengers and potential more incidents (but it doesn't take Sherlock to see the team changes from R2 to R3 and figure it out)

You would think that but the player who did the punch actually played on the weekend which I think is very bad by the league to allow that

On second thought, if it has gone to police it would be innocent until proven guilty. Which would mean SFL hands are tied, how can you suspend a player before the police has conducted their process. In that case he'd be free to play.

So you think the league will just be waiting until the police investigation is done before they do there own the bloke could play half the season

Pretty ordinary by the club to allow him to play. They should have given him a suspension of their own to set a standard. Letting it go without punishment suggests they have no problem with that type of thing at their club.

Unfortunately the clubs is choosing wins over values they must consider him a pretty important player

This forum has a bit of juice and some East Brighton faithful it seems

After 3 - a not so close division after all

East Bri - a team of champions or a champion team? Look away when they play the bottom 3-4 teams. They’ve got the star power. Gun mids, big forwards
Plug them into the last dance

Highett - they are fast young and skillful. Lack a bit of height and size though. T Brown turning back the clock. Jackson and Duscher don’t seem to be slowing down either.

One team goes home undefeated on the weekend..

Caulfield - they’ll be a tough beat all year. Hardened team. They’ll strangle some sides this year

Hampton Park - another fast and young side. I was enjoying their work until EB gave them the business

Murrumbeena - good to see a side come up from Div 3 and challenge. I like Beena for finals. They’ve recruited some real class. Michael and Pollard are too good for Div 2

Doveton - no Chapman no Doveton ? Also there ground is a complete
construction site, they won’t be playing any home games there this year surely. Does this hurt them. Hampton Park to give them a 1-3 start

What’s happened about the incident at Skye? nothing on the site. Can’t find the tribunal findings. Surely you can’t have blokes king hitting people from behind and suiting up the following week.

East Malvern -
Morrisby and Peterson might be the best Tall back/Tall forward combo in the league. Change my mind

Was expecting more from Keysborough but there veteran retirements have really hurt them. Horrific scenes out at Skye. Keysy we’re starting to pull them back. Last Qtr would of been interesting. I’m against Skye getting the 4 points, if a player from your team causes an incident like that and you’re rewarded 4 points the league needs to look at themselves.. if it was a broken leg I can understand (anyway)

Black rock might still a couple games on heart this year but they’re going to have a tough year ahead
This is a great review ; to add on
East Brighton must be paying 30k over the cap for this team. Very old list but Downie , Semmel, Head and Corp deadset superstars, they will be in the big dance 100%.

Highett; Good coach and on a good day this team could beat anyone but good teams will show Brown and Dino abit more respect so we’ll see if the younger lads can step up around them.

Doveton; Chapman is a serious difference maker and Kyle leaving late in pre season hurt them but also looked like bad kicking hurt them last week.

Beena; Decent start for a team from D3. Sam Michael defiantly looking good but saw EB game and Pollard wasn’t great and he that’s the only game he played so far so maybe got hurt during that game ?

Skye; disgusting last year and this and the SFNL need to step up.

East Malvern have some very good young kids running around and the twin towers are great ; only Harris/ Corp Willis / Lello in the same breath in this division.

Black rock without juniors will always struggle to be competitive anywhere besides D3.

East Bri do have some older players but in their best side, 1 player is 28, 1 is 27 and 14 are aged 22-26
Probably only 2 may retire come end of the year
Last year we were accused of being too young and that may have been correct

Highett V East Brighton is my early GF call.
East Brighton stacked with D1 talent. A traditionally strong D1 club so would be great to see them back up again after a few years in hibernation at the bottom. Next step would be to repair their fractured relationship with the junior club and create some sort of pathway for the EB juniors who turn their back on the Old Boys or aren't involved with a private school, however rare that may be.

Highett have completely revamped their club from the ground up. Great core of young seniors in the 1s, ressies winning their first games in 4 years, thirds up and running and are flying as well as a strong 19s. Great to see from a club that was on its knees in Division 1 recently. Here's hoping they can adjust to the level if they go up again. If they win the flag they can share it with Old Mentonians ;)

Beena will challenge as well. Those new rooms are spectacular and won't be long till they get to D1 you would imagine.

Doveton are.... struggling? To think they beat Chelsea Heights by 90 odd points in the semi-final last season. Sliding doors....

Skye are disgusting and not worth a mention.

The panthers will string together some wins but just need a bit of stability right now in D2 and then try challenge for the flag in the next couple seasons.

Love the rockers, hard working club who do not pay many of their players at all. Have them for the drop but hope they can get a win on the board at some stage... last weekend was encouraging.

Other than the rockers, how many clubs would be paying the bulk if not all senior players? I'm not privy to any inside info but feel only Beena, EB and Doveton would have the ability to? Thoughts.

Hampton Park used to pay well back in the day……but they had some bloody good sides too!

Article in local leader saying SFNL have reached out to AFL and asked for an investigator into Jojo's incident. I haven't got the sub to the article but I'll post it anyway.

Weird that it’s taken nearly 2 weeks for the league to get the investigator involved if they have nearly 30 statements from witnesses

21 straight senior losses now for East Malvern (It may be more but I can't locate 2021 results), what is going on down at the zoo???? I feel for the cockroach, it's clear the cattle just isn't there. It was nice to see the side put up some sought of fight on the weekend but they can already kiss finals goodbye. Focus needs to shift on beating the fellow cellar dwellers or Div 3 beckons.
Reserves forfeit today?
