i think it had to be treated more harshly because of the result and the use of the elbow. hall's intent was much much worse though.

Freo's season has been so pathetic that they're happy for any win..... even if it's at the tribunal.

IMO Solomon's effort was far worse. Hall and Staker were grappling with each other, Ling and Solomon weren't. Hall's punch was sweet and did as much damage as it was possibly going to do. Solomon's hit was only a couple of inches off being a fractured skull and incredibly serious damage. Even so, Ling is on the sidelines four times longer than Staker. Hall's punch was a momentary rush of blood, Solomon's effort was in line with the Fremantle game plan.

The only mitigating thing in Solomon's favour is that as the Freo plan was to play the game right at the edge what is legally permissable, then really the Freo coaching staff should take some of the blame for the instructions they gave. Not that the gutless Harvey and his bunch of brown nosers are willing to stand up for their team.

Lol, was reported on Channel 10, Ling wants to get up for the Hawks game. Yeah, we'll see.

They also reported Freo came out with all these character witnesses from Essendon... ie. Hird and Ramanaskus and that when he went through his cancer treatment it was as if Dean "had the illness with him". Or something along those lines. Please.

Anyway, I'm kind of surprised he got 8, was expecting 6 or 7. Anyway, well done tribunal.
