Thoughts on the Derby after today?
He was gonna be vulnerable today if they went slow in front, but the Derby will be much more his go. Didn't like the way Super Cool was getting away from him at the end, but IAD takes time to straighten up then go. Still the one to beat IMO.

Passion for your country Cups today?

Thinking of playing around Eraset and Over Quota at Sale.

Thinking of playing around Eraset and Over Quota at Sale.

I thought Sertorius was clearly the one at Sale but is no value at $2.10 fixed this morning... Commanding Time a good thing in the Hamilton Cup though. Could take the two of them all up, Commanding Time will be overs, hopefully about $2.50.

Sale
Really keen on Hazard and Edgewood and then in the Cup Sertorious so probably multi some of them up as they aren't big odds whatsoever

Hamilton
Methuselah in the cup at odds

Has its own form patterns (obviously) plus the design of the track I believe doesn't give every horse its best chance. Just my opinion.

No doubt some horses handle it better than others. Ditto jockeys. The patterns are usually fairly repetitive and as such can enable to jag some nice price winners as a few faves will struggle. I've just become a member there this year so that's certainly assisted in noticing a few things but if you look at previous meetings, the pattern usually holds reasonably firm.

Mourinho's win yesterday has certainly franked that form.

I think he's too short. Over Quota is a really good each way ticket and should be able to stalk Sertorius from the draw. Eraset won this two years ago and gets to the mile. All sounds good on paper doesn't it?

Yes it does. its always easy before lunch.

I also reckon Over Quota is a very consistent animal and is almost a lock to run the drum.

Has Sale Cup always been in the spring? Can't recall it previoiusly being this time

I've back Veewap today in the Sale Cup, can run time and the mile will suit.

Sertorious is unders I think, but is the most likely winner. Standing him one out in the tri, with the other chances.

Sertorious / Smokin' Joey, Over Quota, Veewap / Smokin' Joey, Over Quota, Veewap

I wonder if Sertorius might get out to an OK price... still only 2.05 fixed but longer on the tote, and the more people who suspect he's "unders", then the more he could drift.

I'll back him if he somehow got out to about $2.70 or so.

SERTORIOUS was a big win at Caulfield last start and just looks to win again if he is right.

At Hamilton I like CROCODILE CANYON each way at odds.

BOOM! :D

You can't ignore Super Cool though, surely you can't just put it down to just MV? Maybe the extra 400m improved him that much more than IAD and another 500m might do the same? Aside from Phillippi they all look fairly even (The Hvaastan, Jimando, Honorius bunch) I'd be surprised if Super Cool & IAD didnt run the quinella. Fully expecting IAD to bounce back but it's not the kind of race you want to be taking even money.

I'm fairly confident that the 2500 will suit IAD more. He relied on his class to win before the Spring Champion, he is bred to stay and has shown that in all of his runs so far.

Super Cool is a very nice, and I would back him to beat IAD at 1600, which is what the Vase was basically run at. At 2500, with plenty of room to wind up I think it will be a different story.

Only thing that can beat IAD is if he's already peaked, yet the Baker camp still seem confident and he's been here before and succeeded with the same prep a couple of years ago with Lion Tamer.
