It appears that Peter Sumich has returned to the Eagles nest.Don't know the full details but it is a bit dissapointing .I thought he would have liked to remain at the Bulldogs and be in charge, but has chosen to be part time coach at the opposition.
Does this now leave the way open for Ben Allan to coach South?

Oh well he dosn't know what he's missing.

Ben Allen coaching souths?? Lets hope not, Peel needs a coach perhaps he would be better there.

Yikes! So much for Connellys plan in ringing up Peter Sumich as his first priority and getting him as an Assistant Coach down at Fremantle. Ah well, at least you have Chris Waterman and good old Rick Charlesworth to oversee your coaches getting sacked. Maybe you can give Murray Arnold (ex Wildcats hack coach) a call and see if he's interested?

Hack you say? He did win back-back titles with the wildcats if I remeber rightly ...

Anyway, thansk for the cynacism Go Ealges, enjoy your "jobs for the boys" coaching structure, and we'll just get the best coaches available! ;)

I would've thought that it would have been an ideal role for Suma to have control of the Bulldogs and officially be an assistant at the Dockers.

Anchor Man is right, it would seem he would rather be a part timer.

Perhaps the Royals scared him out of being a teams head coach? :cool:

From what I heard Sumich will be a full-time assistant to Worsfold and its really to do with his friendship with Worsfold why he took the position.
Other news Peel Thunder new coach will be Peter German;
PEEL'S bid for survival in the West Australian Football League gained momentum yesterday when Peter German was announced as the club's coach for 2002.

German, 36, was offered the position late last week but first had to be cleared by West Coast, where he had one year remaining of a three-year contract as an assistant coach.

The former Kangaroos midfielder, who played 185 VFL/AFL games from 1984 to 1994, said he was excited about coaching the Mandurah-based club. from the west

kuepper - I don't follow the extended NBA (NBL) competition so I don't know what goes on there. If Arnold was so crash hot, why didn't he stay longer at the Wildcats? Was it his choice to leave or was he given the boot for Bruton or Mike Ellis?

Well nor do i to be honest, but my sister w2as a mad basketball fan early 90's so through sheer weight of numbers my mind has some of it brainwashed into it.

If I remeber correctly, his main probelem was marketing - he was a boring crabby b$%****, and the team played boring slow basketball - defence orientated - but hey they won.

i think it was '93/4 Adiran Hurley - then national team coach, becaome available, and they flucked Murray after 2 titles in 3 years for him.

I think anyway - sounds close enough for me ;)
