Defenders

BP - Uncle_Leo (Gumbies) - He's been a mainstay at full back this season for the Gumbies and was a big contributor in keeping the Swamprats to just 4 goals in 3 quarters. Played on veteran ant555 and kept him to just 2 kicks and 1 goal. Did a bit of work himself with 10 disposals and 3 marks.

FB - Karnezis_13 (Hawks) - He started on the bench but was brought on to nullify BigJoeD_ and kept him goalless from midway through the first quarter onwards. The FRED medal leader was left with just 4 disposals and 1 goal whilst Karnezis racked up 11 touches and 4 marks. Was a general in defence and was the biggest reason the Hawks conceded just 4 goals all game.

BP - edgie (Swamprats) - Played forward and back and did a solid job at both positions. Finished off in a back pocket shutting down NSWCROW and finished with a statline of 13 disposals, 2 marks and a goal.

HB - Great8 (Gumbies) - The Gumbies rookie defender is quickly becoming an expert in his field with another TOTW nomination. Drifted across half back and intercepted with ease, taking 8 marks and dishing off 19 disposals. Not the first time he's been an elite user across the backline this season.

CHB - Nuffers (Furies) - Had a big game on a number of opponents at centre half back whilst making a positive contribution himself. Finished off the game with 17 disposals, 7 marks and 2 tackles and outshone his flankers to be the best rebounder of the match.

HB - Matera92 (Bears) - The former Bears premiership captain has had a sharp upturn in form (both playing and posting) since returning to his original club and capped it off with a TOTW nomination. Had 17 disposals and 10 marks off a half back flank in his best game of the season so far.

Midfielders

W - Chappyuk (Furies) - The standout player of the round, Chappy was everywhere in the Furies' 95 point demolition of the Wonders. Had a game high 30 touches, took 9 marks and moved up the ground to finish with 3 goals as well. 123 DT points is a reflection of his stellar output.

C - Yakker (Demons) - 'Handball, handball, handball'. It might not have been as memorable a comeback as the 1970 Reserves Grand Final but the Demons skipper was inspirational as his side mounted a late comeback to win against the Bears. Finished with 17 handballs to go with 8 kicks, 3 marks and 3 tackles and led the way as his side kicked 5 of the last 6 goals to overturn a 20 point fourth quarter deficit.

W - 3121 premiers (Royals) - Was engaged in an intriguing battle with Matt_352 and just marginally edged it, finishing with 22 disposals, 6 marks, 79 DT points and the sim's nod for the match-up. On-field he's been a revelation for the Royals and is in career-best form.

Ru - Matty411 (Bombers) - He's now the league leader for disposals and second for hitouts, a remarkable turnaround from his early season form. Was arguably best-on-ground in a dominant win against the Dragons, finishing with 16 hitouts, 28 disposals and 2 goals.

RR - Agent93 (Hawks) - Another top game in a low scoring affair. Imposed his physicality with 8 tackles and 6 free kicks but was industrious around the ground with a game high 19 possessions as well. A clear best on ground.

Ro - TedDougChris (Roys) - Best on ground in the Roys' tight win over the Royals and was an absolute workhorse all game long. Had just 12 disposals in the wet conditions but finished with 9 tackles, 6 free kicks and 2 goals in a performance that will gain the respect of many.

Forwards

HF - cats2rise (Demons) - Was a tough ask splitting C2R and sausageroll at half forward this week but C2R's increased scoreboard pressure wins him the spot. Kicked 2 goals and was a constant menace across the 50m arc with 15 disposals and 6 marks. Applied forward pressured as well with 2 tackles.

CHF - arrowman (Bombers) - The Baghdad centre half forward had a field day against Dragons defender and league legend Ljp86, taking an amazing 9 marks and kicking 2 goals. Finished with 23 disposals as well as a tackle in one of the better CHF games we've seen all season.

HF - Ant Bear (Swamprats) - Was the Swamprats' best in a losing side and split his time between midfield and the forward line. Racked up an impressive 21 disposals, took a mark and laid 6 tackles. He led the way during the Rats' fourth quarter comeback and kicked a goal despite not getting the win in the end.

FP - BEEG (Bombers) - One of more exciting young full forwards in the game helped fire the Bombers to a big win on Sunday night. Finished with 5.4 and was a clear standout in the forward line as the Dragons went down by 54 points. Has been an underrated contributor to the Bombers' resurgence.

FF - Its Manbearpig (Bears) - The in-form player of the competition at the moment, MBP had a lot of pressure after kicking 8 in his first game at full forward. He backed up it with 7 against the ladder leaders including 5 in the second half when the game was on the line. The Bears fell short in the end but will be very excited with his form.

FP - rfctiger74 (Furies) - One of the favourites to take over the Furies captain in S27 started on the bench before dominated the forward pocket. Was brilliantly effective, finishing with 5 kicks and 5 goals including 3 marks plus 3 goals in the last quarter alone.

Interchange

Int - manangatang (Demons) - Had far less impact around the ground but was an absolutely dominant force at the taps and gave first use to his midfielders at every opportunity. Had 21 hitouts to gym4life's 11 whilst also picking up 15 disposals, 3 tackles and a goal. Conceding 4 free kicks dragged his DT tally down to just 65 but all in all was a textbook rucking performance.

Int - VSTone (Dragons) - One of the most underrated posters in the competition, VSTone shone for the Dragons despite a third quarter blowout. Worked hard all day to finish with 27 disposals, 7 tackles, 2 free kicks and a goal.

A gent, ninety-three, thanks you for the recognition of his hard years of toil.

The fact that I have zero selections despite dominating the half back line week in, week out just goes to show that this team of the week has no meaning.

Change the name to team of the weak.
Settle champ, you'll get there one day.

When I'm retired.
Awwwwww. Are you still all bitter ‘n twisted cos you didn’t get that EKA?
People with an EKA > people without an EKA.
