certainly a different list. Kamdyn has gone very high, considering i picked him up at pick 46 in our phantom draft. and i still cant see freo passing on Shaw.

Pretty happy with our selections, although i wouldnt mind Lonergan either

Why isn't Whitfield at #1?
I know GWS has the first 3 so it doesn't matter but he's pretty much locked at #1......
Plus, you probably want your #1 pick to be playing games straight away..... A mid/util is much more likely to do so than a ruckman.

Nice work but I don't think Grundy would be at number 1 and Stringer is ranged from 15-25 because of his injuries.

Not in any mock drafts I've read he isn't.
He'll go 5-15.
If not for the injury, he could have gone top 2.

Yes, but Cousins is 179cm and Hrovat 174cm. The height difference is significant. We need someone who can compete with the likes of Josh Kennedy.

That's a bit reactionary. You don't draft guys specifically to compete with a player from whomever is the premier at the time. A couple of bounces the other way and you might have been saying we need someone to compete with Mitchell... oh, hang on!

Me counting ours then going down the list and counting the other teams. I got just over half-way before getting bored, but thought it was enough of a sample. We have 4 by the way.

The 4 does not include Ben Sinclair who is 182cm, but there are probably few players more easily swept up and off the ball. Elliott is an aggressive tackler, but light players like him and Sinclair don't have the arm width and body strength to really wrap players up and prevent them giving off the ball. Elliott will build up strength and with experience will become more effective. Krakouer is under 180 but he gets the ball and plays bigger. We can afford a couple of small guys if they have the strength and ball winning ability of Mitchell or the elusiveness of Krakouer. I guess I only really have a problem with small, light players, with a high centre of gravity or players lacking strength in an inside mid role. Blair is better suited to a role forward than as regular midfielder.

Joely, you did more research than I might have done in the same situation. Enough to shut me up about for a while, anyway.

I have had a road to Damascus experience with Hrovat. I read up on him and decided that he is the one to target for our inside mid. Yes siree, I was wrong and now I am right. Shows the value of a little bit of knowledge, though in this case, someone else's knowledge. The smaller they are the more I can see myself liking them. MyManwasshowntheDawe could become MidgetMan or SwappedforaMidget! or Vertically Challenged or MoreMicethanMen (triple M for short).
