Not surprising really, the Test retirement surely not too far off either.

Breaking news: Sachin Tendulkar has announced his retirement from ODIs
On the current matter though, the greatest ODI player of all time for mine. 18,500 runs at just under 45 and a strike rate of 86 opening up. Insanely good record.

He is though, since the beginning of 2011 he has 1 century and is averaging 35.9, with the last two series being even worse NZ ave 21 & England ave 18 . It is a shame, but unfortunately that is what makes you relise that you are past it.As much as a player career shouldn't be about protecting an average, I hate to see Sachin end the same way Ponting did.
The most outstanding mark on his ODI record is the 200* in Gwalior at 37 years of age. I didn't see it coming and it was fitting that it was him that finally achieved it.

Shame Bangladesh hadn't set a few more runs for Watson to chase down in the game where he smoked them from pillar to post.![]()
+1. Reminds me of Gilly in Hobart against Zimbabwe. Someone's going to cream the record one day.
He's been semi retired from ODI for a long time, always picking and choosing the games he play, and he doesn't play that many
Hope he gets to 200 Tests, can't think of anyone that would break that for a long time
