It’s hard to find a call with any excitement when they’re all pissed off at Collingwood winning.

The radio teams are posting footage of their calls and every box looks like they’re at a funeral.

They’d obviously all convinced themselves Collingwood couldn’t win.

Big Twit aka BT was in a Pies shirt today celebrating the win with other Collingwood supporters at the Lexus Centre or whatever it's called.

Not a great look for a main Ch7 commentator, can you imagine Bruce McAvaney celebrating with the Crows or Comettu with West Coast?

The main commentators are supposed to be unbiased but not anymore with the likes of BT and Darcy who openly barrack for their teams.

You can accept it more with special comments guys like Richo or Hodgey and even they do a better job of being unbiased than BT and Darcy.

BT hates Collingwood if you listen to his commentary but he’d probably have been there as the MC as he is for most Collingwood events. Or are you saying his employment should be restricted and not be allowed to earn money elsewhere?

There used to be DVD sets of Grand Finals where you could select from multiple audio tracks (Channel 7, 3AW, ABC, Triple M, Crowd noise only). Does anyone know if these still exist?

Pretty sure they do it every year? They just release them after they release a DVD with just the TV coverage so that suckers and the impatient buy both.

It's getting worse every year. If I were a Richmond, Melbourne, Geelong or Collingwood supporter I'd hate to have the precious memory of a premiership replay tainted by these d***heads.

The commentary by 7 of the Geelong win last year was appalling. Flat as a tack, missing all the big and speacial moments

Thanks for this. I managed to synch SEN with the 7 vision. The SEN commentary was light years ahead. It felt so much more like the game I experienced in person.
The last quarter and the last few minutes were full of tension and excitement and the SEN crew did it very well.
NO bleating about umpires, just rapid fire, on point commentary. Even Kane Cornes was really good!

Why was the crowd so quiet?

I assumed it was like that because the crowd is 80% corporate dickheads and regular fans can't afford to get in and see the game.

The volume of the prelim was astonishing. Yesterday sounded like a regular season Sunday twilight fixture.

But maybe it was just because the prelim was on Kayo and yesterday channel 7 decided we don't want crowd noise, we want ump mics turned up to 11?

They also seem to pump up the Lions chants and turn down the Pies chants.

The Collingwood chant was significantly louder at the game, yet on TV, probably by design, they sound similar.

Gerard Whatley is the Goat of calls.

Surprised Fox haven't thrown the kitchen sink at him to get him to do the Fox Footy call, particularly given he must already be under contract for AFL360.

Could argue his talents are wasted not being on radio. Really gets you into the game without seeing it.

Being at the ground on Saturday, then watching the replay... how on earth did they fail to capture the atmosphere? The tension and noise in the crowd was insane.

This might be just me, but in the past I recon the replays have the crowd quieter than the live broadcast? Noticed it watching finals from last year on Foxtel and I swear at the time you could hear the crowd more.
