Tough season where we lost most of our players against the better oppo, nadir being the Essendon game. Brutal to trade out West and then have Purcell go down for most of the season. If it's an equitable (17 game) season we easily finish top 6.

Realistically Watt is our only out, maybe Paxy is finished too which would be a shame. Otherwise we have a young core and a really impressive spine - Gillard, Chaplin, Pearce, Zanker, Gall + GC and Bannan - not to mention our starting mids Hanks, Mithen, Purcell, McNamara, Mackin + Hore.

The improvement will come from the bottom 6. Stinear sometimes seems like Goody's younger brother but the players get around him. Be happy with one more year but if we don't make a prelim with this list it's time to move on.

Agree. Still got a good young core and I like that the W program are more willing to make ambitious trades to improve the list. Trading West was maybe a bit naive given our lack of inside grunt bar Purcell, but her and Sheriff got us Pisano who looks a good long term prospect.

The newbs that came through this year looked ok and should be better for the run. Stinear is probably getting on the nose a bit. We have played some great footy under him, but given we're in a bit of a transition period anyway a change of coach could make sense. Even with the injury * some of our performances this year were dreadful.

Long shot that Port beat the Roos. But if both Adelaide teams made it, they'd have an Adelaide Grand Final with no access to Adelaide Oval, I'd say that would surely make the AFL and AFLW revaluate the way seasons are timed missing out on what would be a near sell out at Adelaide Oval... but you know they wouldn't care that much

So good of the AfLW to make the women play in this heatwave. Think North will romp it in .

Sad if she leaves but that’s life in the AFLW .
I would like to keep her

But if she wants to leave and Collingwood throws out pick 1 with a player and pick swap, i would be open to it. But i do like her and hope she does stay

I would prefer she stayed as well .

I like Harris, but feel she is getting overtaken a bit by newer players. Has some campaigner about her which we can lack but if she could be part of a package for #1, or a few decent picks, that could be huge for setting up the side longer term.

I met her in a Chemist Warehouse once. She was nice. I was full nuffy sort of staring at her then pretending that I wasn’t and acting cool. She saw right through it and smiled and said hi so I got to talk to her.

I mumbled random stuff (true though) about enjoying the women’s competition, loving the way she plays and being really happy that she came to the demons. She even double-checked my name at the end of my blather to see whether she had misheard it.

I walked tall for that day. Not as tall as Tayla - I’m a midget beside her.

But yes, if she goes it might do us some good in keeping recruiting class. I won’t hate her. Great tough player

I would do a double check too if someone introduced themselves as GoDees69

Who would have thought the game would be so fumbly putting a grand final on at night on the last day of spring

It's been pretty apparent that North where gonna win it this year so I've had a lot of time to think about it. With Ex-Players you either love or hate them going on to win a flag somewhere else

But I still honestly don't know how i feel about Birch winning a flag at North

Continues the pattern of teams winning a flag the year after losing a GF. 4 times in a row now?

Not overly surprising, North were clearly ahead of everyone else even the other traditionally strong teams.

Much like Melbourne in 2022 this flag has been a long time coming for North. No-one ever deserves a premiership but they've been up there for a long time and it'd be a relief to grab one.

In not a very even competition up till now, its no wonder that 'stat' has happened.
However I think things are starting to even out somewhat.

Let see what the draft and trade has instore. We've been plundered lately.
