I still think people are blinded by butchers high draft pick used. But so be it, no point bangin head against brick wall any longer. If Stewart was a high pick, I'd be havin the same fight.

That, and having seen him kick goals at AFL level. And that he is finally getting over his injuries. And that he is the second best KPF on our list. Other than that I have no good reason to want game time into him

How old is Stewart? It's got nothing to do with where they were picked, Butch has shown signs and continues to show signs of crashing packs and the like

Dids was in Adelaide yesterday for a friends wedding, sad story. I'd be happy to have him on the list for a year or 2 while we're building toward pushing to the top of the ladder. Ask yourself who would you prefer coming on as a sub next year round 1 Didak it Mitchell? No disrespect to Kane but I know who I'd take.

But Gorringe through DFA - delisted free agent that presumably means - how is that going to happen?

It wont. Theres zero chance he will be delisted. He'll either stay (my pick), or he'll be traded here.

ok, so the idea of offering up butcher to bring in Gorringe was shot down......so how else do we do it? don't want to give up our first rounder, nor should we. our second rounder will be a tad too low. and then there is polec?

how do we bring them here? need to give up something to get them. both will be of similar value.

Excluding players, the most likely way to tweak values would be other picks.

Ie if Gorringe is worth a bit less than our second rounder, then Gorringe and their third rounder for our second or something along those lines might work. I'm not sure we will get him for much less than a second rounder though.

Why do I have this feeling I heard that Gorringe hated Port?

There was an article in the web/papers that he saw their first game against us as their target for their first win. In the end he was right, but it was just the fact that he/they looked down on us.

Also another poster must've said something to that effect.

That was the story going around in his draft year, was that he was a mad Crow fan and hated Port.

We dont need another ruckman. We need a tall forward and more elite onballers.

Perhaps another ruckman on our list may mean Redden could provide an option as a tall forward.

correctomondo.

If redden was to be in the side as a tall forward, or Lobbe in the side as a tall forward. what a great second ruck either would be when main ruck is being rested.

I can see Lobbe and Redden being great forwards..might as well put butcher in the ruck and move the big boys into the forward line.

Yeah, it'd be nice if Redden or Lobbe could play as a tall forward well enough to justify their inclusion regardless of their rucking abilities. However has there been a team in the last 20 years who hasn't had that dream after one of their rucks drifted forward and kicked one or two in a game? The strike rate of ruckmen that play forward well enough to be picked as forwards first and foremost, ruckmen as a clear second fiddle is woeful. Lade type players are very rare.
