By The Way, what I mean by a quality player is Kane Johnson and Say just another player, Ben Marsh

How bout a few ideas on trades, What about Laurence Angwin To Hawthorn for hopefully a first round pick and That ontraded to the Roos and say Ben Marsh to Essendon (They are interested in him) for another highish pick also to the roos and carey to us.
Anymore than that would be risking too much I think.

A first round draft pick at the most. No player trades except maybe a very, very fringe player. Definitely no trade of players of the calibre of Kane Johnson etc nor of Stenglein, Doughty, Bode, Stevens, Reilly, Handby etc etc. Maybe trade Angwin to Hawthorn for their first round pick and then ontrade that to Kangaroos but that is all.

It's about time people stopped talking about Kane Johnson in terms of trade bait. We should show him that we really want him to stay in Adelaide and be part of our team for the rest of his playing future.

I think we could risk trading Handby and Shir as neither has played too many senior games for AFC. You are spot on about Johnson!

I am very happy with Carey joining the Crows. He will be mad keen to play and should assist in developing some of our other key position players.

Wayne Carey at Adelaide is a good start to the Crows 2003 Recruiting Campaign. It will be interesting to see who else we manage to accquire.

We have plenty of midfielders and there is a good crop of players coming through so depth in this area is no problem. It's the big blokes that we need to obtain.

I think we need to pick up 1 - 2 ruckmen to replace Angwin and possibly Marsh. We also need to look at developing someone to fill Clarke's spot in a couple of years.

I think we will need another 2- 3 key position players, particularly key defenders. Rutten would be one and hopefully Smith can continue to improve. A couple more fresh faces would'nt hurt and we also need to clean out the Perrie/Beinke/Schell/Marsh/Crowell etc merry go round of forwards that we have had on the list for a few years. Hentschel has'nt done much either.

Other than that I'm fairly happy with the rest of the current squad. Fantasia and Co have a tough job ahead of them.

North wants a good player and a first round pick, you don't give it to them and you won't get Carey, that's the bottom line.

1. Yeah, that's what they are asking.

I think what they have done is set the price for Carey high, but they are aware that they will get a fair deal - but a bit less than they originally asked for. I think there is still room to negotiate a good deal with North, without AFC losing Kane Johnson for example.

I'm tipping K.Johnson or B.Burton

D.Brogan has been close to getting a game all year but with Primus, Lade and French it is a bit hard for him. He has been without doubt the best ruckman in the SANFL this year, I think he will get more of a chance next year as i think either Lade or French may get traded.

What do you want them to say?? They are trying to lift the Kings value as much as possible...but the Crows are still in the better position.

Will North really take nothing instead of a first rd pick.....an idiot could answer that question.

I think North will definately want a Player and a draft pick. They want a quality player to say "Carey's gone but X slots right in" but they also want a draft pick because they know that whoever they get is not going to be as good as Carey (Unless you give us MacCleod ) so they need to go to the supporters and say we also got draft pick X to make up the difference.

I think if the player is of the Calibre of Kane then both sides could probably agree upon maybe a second round draft pick after some to-ing and fro-ing. Maybe a bit more if you can offload another player for a high draft pick

You can keep Lade & French, how about Brogan i'm sure Skippy would be available for a straight trade
