Sorry but what?Absolutely.
And rural areas receive more welfare and taxpayer funds per capita than the cities. They are the leaders, urban people are the lifters.
"Farmers = real Australians" is more of a dogwhistle than anything. Have you noticed the ethnic background of pretty much all farmers……
Sorry but what?
The economic contribution of capital cities to the national economy was 69.2 per cent, with regional Australia1 contributing 30.8 per cent.
90% of people live in the city.

You said rural areas, last time I checked there’s no mines in east Perth or toorak…Mines not farmers bro. Agriculture is 2% of GDP. Tourism brings in more cash.
Also agriculture is around 13% of our export dollars…Mines not farmers bro. Agriculture is 2% of GDP. Tourism brings in more cash.

There are many regional electorates which have quite a bit less than 100,000 eligible voters and many urban electorates which have quite a deal more than 100,000 eligible voters. There would be even less coalition members of parliament if we made it more evenly distributed between the cities and the regions. The regions are over-represented on population numbers. We could change lots of things with how we vote to make it more "appropriate". IMO the right to vote or compulsory voting should be abolished for over 67s, and 16-17yr olds given the right to vote. We could hand out 2 ballot papers to those with a university degree in recognition of them achieving a higher standard of academics. But we don't. And you in the country don't get special exemptions because of some idea about "earning more GDP (even though the facts show you don't)
Only the territories and Tasmania have electorates with less than 100,000.There are many regional electorates which have quite a bit less than 100,000 eligible voters and many urban electorates which have quite a deal more than 100,000 eligible voters. Pretty sure that many 's's will give her Highlander-like super-powers.well done susssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssan on leading the least electable liberal party to ever exist
Agriculture, including meat, grain and wool is worth around $40bn.Also agriculture is around 13% of our export dollars…
Agriculture, including meat, grain and wool is worth around $40bn.
Education is worth $51bn.
All the complaining about higher education and University indoctrination and wasting time. Turns out, the education industry is more valuable than all the agriculture in the country combined.
It would make the Nats' heads explode.
She’s Turnbull mkII - a figurehead to dress the Dutton party up as lambsI feel bad for Sussan. She's taken up the poison chalice, and as the Party's first female leader, whoever dislodges her will be in trouble too, unless she stands down for personal reasons without a fight.
Perhaps this should be extended that the export of food should see also free food? The export of education should only serve as a means of educating our own kids for free.
I hate that our own kids have to pay for their education at uni. We should be prioritising education.
Beetrooters would be best

All the policies will stay exactly the same just with a less odious figurehead.
This is true, but over 8 billion of that education export figure goes straight back offshore via criminal networks embedded in the overseas student market in international laundering and trafficking and your general exploitation of extremely vulnerable people. Mind you, anyone who gives a shit about that one should be picking Labor a million miles ahead of the Libs. The current government is the first to attempt to invest in regulation, investigation and law enforcement in this area. All governments are aware and always have been, but the Libs value private business growth over human slavery.Agriculture, including meat, grain and wool is worth around $40bn.

seems more than apt. bereft of leadership and policy, with their agenda set by unelected individuals from lobby groups and the media.

The Libs are absolutely cooked. Going more extreme right wing means they’ve attracted the bottom of the barrel leadership. Like the Republican Party in the US. Conspiracy theory loving; minority group hating leadership is what they embrace. The fact they see Price as an Indigenous leader says it...bsky.app

Nice drive by for Jane HumeFrank Bongiorno has an article from The Conversation looks at what the libs need to rebuild
He seems to question if they have the ability to reform.![]()
Political parties can recover after a devastating election loss. But the Liberals will need to think differently
If they want to ever win government again, the Liberals will need to look at party and policy reform – and widen their appeal to new parts of the electorate.theconversation.com

I believe Sky After Dark have announced its demiseReports of the Liberal Party's death were greatly exaggerated in May 2022. I was hoping that was the death-knell.
Fast forward two-and-a-half-years, and it looked to be in a position to form government at the beginning of 2025. Fast forward another four months, and the cold hard results are even more dire than last election. The party is losing critical mass and has been virtually smoked out of the cities.
The Liberal Party may not be dead or even dying, but it sure as hell has cancer.
