Melbourne should decide to sack him when and if they can get a better replacement. Not much point in doing it now, particulary when I understand that the other coaches at Melbourne are not rated as any good. Who do they pick as caretaker?

Of course he is and sacking him won't make a scrap of difference, Melbourne's problems stem from poor recruiting and development that began way before Mark Neeld took over. You need to go back to drafts from 2006 onwards to see just how many errors they have made. The majority of their first round picks haven't really set the world on fire and when you look at who they could've taken then it all becomes very clear. Neeld will get the boot, but his replacement is also walking on hot coals!
Not saying Neeld has no blame to shoulder but at some point the playing group have to take responsibility, they are paid a lot of money to do something that everyone would love to do and they treat it with disdain. There is no doubt that many are not up to scratch but players like Sylvia and Davey should be removed from the list and never play afl again. Jack Watts has fallen into the bust category but he really needs to work out what player he is going to be, he's 196cm and 90kg and is running round pretending he's a half back flank. Send him forward or stick him on a man and keep him there, or trade him while he has some value
I don't like the way the media are always gunning for the coaches who are under the pump. I find the obsession with "sacking the coach" to be extremely distasteful. However, anyone who thinks Neeld should hold his job are either in denial or they haven't a clue.

Viney - good pedigree, took over as caretaker last time but (allegedly) clashes with Neeld. Doesn't want to be a head coach, especially wiht Jack in the team. Will be retained for sure.
I think he'll be coaching...
Peter Jackson will move toward stability, if I recall, that was one of the issues he mentioned in the media.
if MFC sack yet another coach, who in their right mind would want coach next?
