Why? Do you find 5 wins from 33 matches acceptable? And the losses weren't small.

And walks away with approx $1.8 million dollars for his 3 years, which most of us couldn't save in 20 years.

How do you reckon that works?
He must have, say, $900k owed to him on his contract. Does he get that all in one big go at the end of the month, just deposited into his bank account (minus tax of course)?

Buckley and Neeld are good mates, I remember a presser they did before QB last year and they looked like two high school kids, just cracking jokes and enjoying themselves.

It's likely to be Blues, Pies or Saints all with Coaches with previous experience of Neeld as an assistant in a premiership winning team.

I think that Neil Craig is a better option anyway, their will be a marked improvement under him..
Be interesting to see if the "sideways/backwards" game plan comes back into vogue. Could get even uglier if that's attempted to be implemented to these Melbourne players.

Where are they gonna hide Connolly for two years?

In some community role? That's 350-400k that could have gone to a new coach.

He's being sacked. His contract was given the green-light by Schwab until the end of 2014. It was only CC staying relevant.

Even after tax that's a shit load of money. And for doing what?

And I'd like to know who's going to fund it? Let's see if ticket prices go up next season. ;)

That's kind of what we played on Monday.

I think he was on $350k a year, so just over $1m over 3 years with $600k still to be paid out.

I thought he sounded the happiest he has been in ages at the press conference this morning. I dare say he is glad to be free to move on. Would be surprised if he hasn't got an assistant gig over the off-season, or follow the Matthew Knights path and take over a club's VFL side.

I think he's a great assistant coach, I believe he got the Melbourne gig on that basis. Was his position so untenable that he couldn't have been given that role as an assistant at Melbourne? Is that as crazy as it sounds? It would have saved them a heap of cash!

How did 600k still owed become 600k a year?

Lets just hope that job has gone to roos for everyone's sake. A roosless fox footy is good for football.
Can he sign BT and Darc to his assistant coaches.
