Buckley said on radio this morning "Mitchell is one of the cleanest ball handlers IN THE SHOE BOX" - Nathan your terminology is freakin weird - maybe your game plan is designed to operate in a shoe box? It sure doesn't work on an oval ..
I think he meant he’s a good handler within tight spaces.

People need to stop focussing solely on Bucks. He did not appoint himself, did not give himself an extension, our board, aka McGuire did and they need to be under the spot light also.

End of the day McGuire won't let Buckley go because if he does he has to admit he stuffed up and he won't do that. End of the day we will be relying on Bucks, who is a decent person who loves Collingwood, to pull the pin. But don't forget McGuires role in this, until he goes this club is rooted. He is the real problem.

1 win, 11 losses versus Clarkson (the best coach of the 2010's) says it all really.
Clarkson knows that his players simply need to wait for us to turn it over. They do it to us every time.

That just shows that Bucks needs more time to turn it around and should've been extended out to 2025 which by my calculation is the earliest he could be expected to draw level on that stat, all things going well.

Being a decent person and loving Cwood is all very cute - the club had /have no assessment criteria for appointing key staff - this has grown under Ed who continually demonstrates no idea about management or governance or heaven forbid ... the difference between the two
PS How have the captain's picks worked out Ed? Remember the army guy who was going to "toughen us up"?

The corporates.. sponsors.. affiliates.. stakeholders they are the one's that have this club rooted in concrete.

McGuire signed Buckley and went on a marketing spree to sell his new product. To admit he got it wrong now.. would mean the fan ain't big enough to cover the s**t coming it's way.

2 yr extention is hoping for the best.. it's actually making more s**t of it..

It's amazing how we've gone about some things.. McGuire's relationship with Brayshaw at the time of the Buckley signing.. Nth Melbourne's interest in Buckley.. served to justify us signing him. That's just the tip of the iceberg.

Amazing how if you pay enough attention to detail.. what you see is a lot a lot of dirty work.

The "shoe box" is well known terminology with coaches.

I'm about done with people trying to compare Buckley to Hardwick and how he eventually turned Richmonds fortune around.

I'd rather a coach that has genuine ability and knows what he's doing and can coach even the worst side into something and reasonably quickly.

Being average is not something to aspire too, and that's all that Buckley brings to the table.

The problem with the club goes much deeper than Buckley though, we need a big clean out. Too many "buddies" between people at Collingwood and not enough "hard ball" being played I'd suggest.

Not sure if this is the thread I should be in - still dazed and confused after last night - but it is so disappointing that a rebuild seems to have turned into another rebuild; the guys we gave up high draft picks for are not delivering; we have lost the opportunity to use and build with those draft picks; then there's Eddie; and Bucks; and...I'm delirious with disappointment.

So, lets pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off, and stay on the path we set following the review. We need to give Guy a chance to make an impact (impossible in such a short time); Maxy; Hocking; no Pert; Hine back to where he should be. We made some changes, we need to give them time to take effect. We also have to review the position of the President. It follows that the senior coach is in the same boat. He has to be.

P.S its a s**t year where Carlton and Essendon are better than us, but it looks like that's happening too.

It's Buckley's call not McGuire's. You're right. The predicament we find ourselves in.. Bucks won't do it.

Unless the board is overrun by someone brave enough to challenge Ed.. then yes.

Or as fans we get together and protest against the board and manager/coach as they do in the English leagues.. FFS they chant it as a group of thousands in the stands.

My belief has always been you need to trust the coach and club is doing the correct things as a player and a fan. Its how the players have belief. When that is gone you become a rabble. Carlton went worse last year but their direction is clear. The fans trust the club is doing the correct things.

Do the players trust Buck's game plan or selection. Do we trust our list management? Id say about 1% of fans do so what are the players thinking behind closed doors? How do they feel when they see them going backwards?

We played a shocker last night but we played shockers for far far to long. We have no system. Our list is a patchwork quilt of "quick fixes". There is no direction.

Its a true boys club. A once proud army is being overtaken by institutions that are Richmond, Hawks.
