Cam has essentially had a year off to party, pretty much a gap year. I don't think WAFL level training would be as high as what the Essendon boys are doing, The Essendon boys are also mostly seasoned veterans whereas Cam has played 2 years of AFL previous to this and only participated in 1 full pre season.

Freo will be taking him knowing full well that he has essentially had a year off (and knowing of his partying etc) that doesn't make or break a player, If he comes along buys in and knuckles down then he will be fine, its reasonable to expect to wait 10 rounds for it though.
