I avoid dog beaches but when I used to go to como beach and mcdougall park quite a bit, both areas where dogs are not allowed off leash but dickhead owners would let them loose anyway. I really do not like strange dogs coming up to me so I ended up having to tell people off twice when I was in a sour mood, though usually I'd just mumble and grumble and put up with it. I don't live in the area anymore though.

People are just ****** in general whether it's kids, dogs, whatever. Went to a home open the other week and there were a couple of kids running around screaming, completely out of control. Parents just wandering around pointing at cornices and whatnot.
Decent cornices?

I dread the day we sell our house. The thought of strangers with or without kids wandering around checking out all our stuff leaves me cold. In a perfect world we'd already have moved and the house would either be empty or staged.

This particular house was empty but I get it. It's natural as an adult to want to look at everything, see what sort of cupboards, wardrobes etc. a place has but it's someone's actual home you are looking at. I wouldn't want someone's feral toddler running wild through my place and my house isn't exactly magazine material.

I've seen Selling Houses Australia on Fox and it's a mix of pompous w***er host and stylist, tragic decor/cutter/etc. and people coming in to look at a house and hating on it before the show does any sort of work to make it look less shit. I reckon your best bet (other than not putting your shit house on TV) is to just stay the hell away and let the agent try and sell it. You don't want to deal with people telling you your home with decades of memories is shit, nor do you want to deal with people just wanting to lowball.

It's not just that it's the stuff of value you have and I know other people would do it because I do it! We checked out a house around the corner last year just out of curiosity and I'm like oh cool this guy plays guitar and bass and that's quite a nice strat and hey I hate the eagles but I bet that jumper signed by the team is worth a bit and that's a cool looking Harley he's got in the garage etc etc

yes you can tell when parents have grown accustomed to just ignoring/tuning out their kids. drives me furious when the kids are screaming their heads off and the parent is just calmly ignoring them. Yeah that might work for you but what about the rest of the people you're around?

Was watching a mate's kid the other day just being a toddler and grabbing things he wanted etc. and the parents were like 'oh don't do that you silly little munchkin naw'. The things he wanted being all the food on an outdoor coffee table. Maybe I'm being precious but I don't want some kid grabbing everything with his sticky hands, patting the dog, putting some things in his mouth, sticking his hands in the hommus etc. No way my parents would've allowed it of me (at someone else's house with other people around) back in the day.

Was at a Thai restaurant in Subiaco a few weeks ago and a group of about 3 families walked in with altogether 4 or 5 kids between the ages of 2 and 6 I reckon. There's an aquarium at the front of the joint so the parents all sat at their table and just let the kids run around the front squealing at the fish, each other and anything else in general. Hands all over the glass. Every now and then after a particularly high pitched squeal that was just too over the top to ignore one of the parents would come out and have a 'stern word' with them before disappearing back to the table to continue enjoying their conversation without having to worry about their kids. Was such a relief when they finally had food delivered and the little shits had to go back to the table. So good to hear the parents' frustration levels return to regular programming.

Has anyone been to home open where there is random shit everywhere? Not mess as such, just random objects and furniture in bizarre locations. I went to a smallish place once and one of the bedrooms didn't have enough space to walk into properly. Mainly because the desk in there was huge.

Freo payback for that period we had to suffer through Drew Banfield as a boundary rider.
